[Lets forget real life and reality for a while so dont put your beliefs in this topic]
There is a Legendary formula known as Elixir of life, This so called potion is mentioned in both Quran and Bible. Plus is a huge legend in many cultures. Its a potion that will make you immune from diseases and stops aging, so a person will stay alive, as long as he or she keeps on drinking it.
There is a legendary man known as Saint Germain (he is not a saint)He is just a rumored person who knows this secret formula but he aint sharing it.He is the so called "real life immortal" because of his multiple sightings.
If you found out one of the people you know is like centuries older than you and he/she has been drinking this potion for centuries. Will you continue the friendship? or will this person scare the crap out of you and you will avoid him /her forever? Or maybe....Are you going to be a traitor and spread his/her secret?
are you going to trust someone who is immortal?

Hi Captain,
That seems to be a good idea... I can wait to let him share the potion with me... I dont see any reason to leave the friendship or even try to find out the formula or the potion... I would let things go as they happen and who knows, s/he may give me the potion if needed

for sure its going to be a lot of work. Its a challenge that is hard to comprehend. But he will have no choice but to trust you. But if he is an evil immortal he might would be the type who will kill the one to gets his secret.

I think it will take a lot of manipulation to make him or her want to share the potion. But for sure throwing a friend under the bus is a bad thing. he owns that potion and he have a right not to share it.

i wish i can ask him what's the secret of immortality. And i wish i can ask him the positive and the negative effects of this to his life. I'm sure he would love to share. If they look like the natural people then it wont scare us a bit. They are mysterious creation so i'm sure there are lots of secrets in their living.

I think the positive aspect his life might have will be living life to the fullest while the hurtful part will be losing loveones and friends. Would you betray an immortal friend for money, like you know selling him/her to scientist.

Or steal the potion it and use it for your own benifit. or but most likely that immortal is not willign to share since he is the only one using it for him self.

It would be awesome to have an immortal friend :).Obviously I would be a bit scared (well, you don't meet immortals every day), but I like mysteries, so I would continue the friendship and also keep the secret. Having such a special experience is not worth finishing it.

How can you convince him that he can trust you, because he might freak out too that someone finds out his precious secret. Plus he might think you will steal his formula.

I would not freak out or fear such an immortal person. Rather I would like to join them in drinking such an elixir, if they would have me.
However, it rather depends on what the ingredients are. What if this elixir requires taking another persons life for one of the key ingredients? In that case, I would just say no, and I would get as far away from that "immortal" as possible.

well the person is just a single person, if this person will not want to share the formula, would you still keep his secret?

there are theories though that the so called rumored elixer of life is made of precious metals. I know immortality is impossible but I hope the technology to stop againg and make us live longer will be in our lifetime.

I'd keep his secret, but I would also not stop trying to persuade him to share that secret with me, as long as I said before, that the secret of his immortality does not involve the taking another's life.

I make a disclaimer to not include reality, this is a fantasy thread, If you want to stay in reality, then back off.

do you think he is selfish for keeping a potion that keeps him immortal a secret or was it a good thing because if he shared the formula, the world will be over populated.

A wanting immortality is itself a condemnation, for any man with his head on his shoulders knows that this is impossible, literally speaking.
Our life is given to an end, which unfortunately do not really realize. If during this rather short, we do so much harm (self, peer, ...), where the planet would get if we live forever?? People would not be ready for it. And rather than spend your life dreaming of immortality of the soul, better try to do something productive with her ...

Nothing is more sublime than the deepening of information, coming from any source, that put you in "trouble" 'by " origin of "' you .... are analyzed and interpreted according to the" 'spirit "of your reach a certain degree of discernment ...... and here you get to immortality ... sorry!
