over the years, the music that is being made is more for the money and not for the love. before music was something people got paid lucratively to do, they did it for the love. but now with the internet and itunes, more people are wanting to become musicians. this in turn makes the quality of music decrease while the quantity increase. i can say that for all musicians but most do it for the money. But with the decrease in record sales, and decrease in quality music, how will the music industy survive?

I am sorry i am not agree with you. Because still we listen music still we love music. Because still the music we listen it's good quality. Though some people make music for money but they give some very good music to us. And as the musician can earn money that's why they effort on it more. Guess singer don't get money then they will not continue to sing a songs. So i believe music will survive.

There certainly is a wide variety of music these days and a difference growing daily. I suppose they will continue in the upper portions of growth, so as long as there are fans. See without fans they would not earn their money, and without fans they pretty much will not exist. So sometimes if I do not enjoy a genre there may be 1000 who do. I am sure there are some decreases with all the pirating but the popularity in my opinion continues it's pattern of today I like this one, tomorrow I may like another and or tomorrow I may like the new guy.

I remember some of the Great Music of the 50's and 60's. Whenever I hear one of those wonderful old songs it keeps going through my head for days after. The music of today leaves much to be desired. Where have the hit songs gone? Why are there no new tunes that ring in your ears and stick in your mind? Today it seems to be all about noise. I wonder where the Birdies is?
