I just to do a little bit or gardening at the backyard of my house. I try to apply if not totally but at least 80 percent of organic way of gardening. I like to plant a lot of leafy vegetables, long beans, chillies and so on. The problem now, I need to get rid of the ants from my vegetables beds. I do not want to use all the chemical to get rid of it. Do you have any idea how to make homemade organic pesticides to get rid of these ants? What do you think of organic gardening?

Hi alokijon, I use turmeric powder to drive away the ants! Turmeric powder is very effective against ants and many other insects as well as if there are any diseases on the plants, it is effective against that too!
Try spreading a lot of turmeric powder around, that should help!

I just came back from my backyard garden. I made a bed for my next project. I planted some vegetable seeds just now. I just hope this time the ants won't steal my seeds hehehe. I put some lemon grass leaves on it to cover the bed and in the hope that the ants won't come nearer my bed. Do you think it is working?

add veneger and water mixture equally, and sprinkle or spray in garden.its a natural way to get rid of ants in ur garden.
ants keep them away from cucumber and mostly cucumber peels. so keep bitter cucumber pieces or peels in ur garden more. or u can also keep citrus peels in ur garden.
sprinkle hot water in garden for more times in a week. keep also wheat cream bowl in ur garden daily.with seeing this, ants can stay away from ur garden.
or u can also spray baby powder or cinamon powder, pepper powder, in ur garden. with this, ants can kill by their frangances.

Do the ants make a lot of damage? If they donĀ“t, Id leave them alone. I check theit holes when they are away from plants and dump a kettle of boiling water there. But I have found out that, at least where I live, ants are worse inside the house than out. So we have an agreement

I have heard that if there are two mounds you can take a shovel and put ants from one mound into the other and vice versa. They will kill themselves. I have not tried this but have heard many people who say it really works. this is specifically true with fire ants though I don't know if it works with other types of ants.

I don't really think it's possible to completely eradicate them, but it's possible to control them using the above methods.
