I am looking to make some small Valentines gifts for my preteens, my husband and two girls in their 20's. Nothing much, just a little something. My search just brings me to the same old, same old. So, I am wondering is there any new fresh ideas out there ?

Pen pots.....they are so cute, my daughter made me one for xmas. It is a pot for plants, painted and then pens are wrapped onto a silk flower and the flower stands up in the pot. She made a bouquet of daisies for me and put love stickers on the pot that she had painted white....just an idea...you could paint them red or pink put hearts on them etc....and then put any kind of flower on a pen, roses are nice for v day.....

My daughter made me one for Mothers day about 3 yrs ago. I thought it was unique and planned on making some myself, so thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten all about it.

I made my kids (when they were little) small heart pillows for Valentine's Day. I used material that I already had, cut out two heart shapes and sewed them together, stuffing them as I went. They both loved the pillows and slept with them for a long time. Does your husband like to read? Make him a bookmark with "I love you" written or sewn on it.

Thats so sweet, and creative. I wish my husband would read, but it is hard to get him to read one page, never the less, a book lol. Thanks !

are you crafty? could you make your girls jewelry? your hubby a keychain? or you could jot down a poem for each of them? or write out a bunch of reasons why you love them and appreciate them and special memories that you have together, cut them up into individual strips and put them in a jar. If you are ambitious, you could put together 365 for each and they would have a special thought for each day of the year.

Yes, I do consider myself to be crafty. I tried making my husband a keychain not to long ago and it did not turn out good at all lol. Love your idea on writing reason why I love them each, and no I am not that ambitious to together 365 for each of them lol, but it a good idea to keep in mind. Thanks

I got a bunch of Hershey's candy bars.....in the six pack....then bought two pretty pages of paper with Valentines on them and made wrappers to fit over the Hershey's one...then I tied a big ribbon on them...and made a tag that says Happy Valentines day...they are very pretty and inexpensive. I made them for all my kids and grandkids.

hey..love that idea ! Sounds very simple and cheap, but I have one problem; They don't care for chocolate to much. They are the sour type candy lovers, but I bet I could make it work. thanks !

I think something edible would be a nice idea. You can make heart shaped cookies or other baked goods and give them, or maybe cute candies or cupcakes or something. Cheap and appreciated, I think, especially if you are good at baking! I have seen many nice recipes like that on the net, so I am sure you won't have a problem finding nice ideas if you decide to go for that.

Yes, although I am not one that cares to be in the kitchen, I had already planned on my making husband some oatmeal raisin cookies to take to work with him. They are his favorites. Plus, just the fact that I baked them should mean a lot to him, because he knows I don't care for baking lol. I am thinking I will take it even a step further and do it all from scratch instead of package like I have done in the past. This should make him happy...bless his heart, having a wife that does not like to be in the kitchen.

I would try making paper mâché objects and painting them. Then you could attach a photo for each individual or possibly of each individual. Thfn I would fill it up with candy, or if I needed to I would put the candy inside earlier.

You know, that is one craft I have not tried but always wanted to ..paper mache. I bet I could really come up with a bunch of ideas then. However, learning a new craft right here before Valentines Day might a bit to much, but might be worth a try..thanks for the idea !
