Liverpool have agreed to sign Luis Suarez from Ajax for 22.8 million euros. Ajax's coach had set the deadline for Saturday but now a deal is believed to be reached by the weekend. The Uruguayan Striker is set to undergo a medical.
Luis Suarez is a great forward and will be a great addition to Liverpool. Torres' injuries throughout the season have been a blow to Liverpool but now he is fully fit and Suarez will be there. He should had many goals to Liverpool and will help them climb up the league. However he will be a great loss for Ajax but they will earn some money from his sale.
what are your thoughts on this transfer?

I think this is the big move that Dalglish had promised the Liverpool fans. I think it is a great move for the player and the club. I think now it frees Liverpool to look at the prospect of Torres moving on to other clubs. Now that the forward line is sealed, I think they can cash in on Torres if a good offer comes by. But I am not sure that they will sell him off to a Premiership rival. Bad news, Chelsea!! :)
Cheers!

I could not agree more with you...Suarez will make it clear that Liverpool is not a club of one-man show, I mean it will reduce their dependence to Torres and Gerrard to move the club forward ...Nevertheless, some big clubs has shown their interest towards Torres and have the cash ready in case the negotiation goes through ...But, I doubt if they will sell them to their Premier League rivals...That should make Torres an object of boos every time he stepped into Anfield the next time...

Well he has handed in a transfer request so they should do the right thing and let him go otherwise it will affect the team even more.

Suarez is definitely a good player as seen in the world cup. However the aftermath of his sending off against Ghana tarnish he skill. His temperament is also suspect. But in any case, he will be a good addition for Liverpool is he can accustomise to the pace and power of the BPL. There are many cases of good players failing to cope with it, especially the South Americans.

I always wanted to see Luis Suarez in the Premier League but I wanted to see him at Manchester United rather than Liverpool. I think he will be a great signing for Liverpool as he is a proven goal scorer.

Seems a bit strange though Liverpool upping their offer so much too me could just signal the end of Torres liverpool career, chelsea maybe? Maybe not though maybe he is a seen as an ideal strike partner. They haven't signed him yet though I'll wait until liverpool can agree personal terms as the player may just get a last minute offer. In theory though he should be brilliant if Liverpool do in fact manage to sign him but wouldn't be the first player to flop in the premier league.
