My Best Friend had her civil marriage 5 years ago. Lately, a friend of her txted her and told her to check if her marriage is legal since he overheard from my friend's husband that their marriage is fake. For 5 years she hasn't checked with the civil registrar's office for her marriage certificate because of various circumstances. Now, when she took time to check the registrar's office for her marriage certificate, she was shocked when she learned that no file exists and that there isn't even a log which tells that the marriage took place. She doesn't have any pictures to show because it the hurriedly done and took place in a remote area. What will you do if you were in this situation?

whew!!! that's a lot to take in!! I would not know what I shall do if ever I find myself in that situation, but how come it has come to 5 years without her checking out her marriage certificate, it's one of those files next to our birth certificate that is highly important and kept at home...

I also have the same question to my friend. Why it took her long before she got her marriage certificate. I can sense that even she doubts her husband's love and fidelity. Maybe there is some point in her life that she thinks she married the wrong person but she stick to the person because she is bound by the vows she made. She now realizes that her husband only uses her in order to keep his job. My friend works in a manning agency for seafarers. Her husband is a seaman and the best and easiest way that the husband gets a constant job appointment is through my friend. Its a crazy thing...Even I do not know what to do given the situation. Is it right to file a case against the guy and is it worth the pain and humiliation? or is it just enough to have the guy removed from work? It is indeed a crazy situation.
