Closest friends... how, when, where??

All of us have friends... they are the family that we choose for ourselves.
Looking back at my life so far, I couldn't remember when and how I got close to a certain people in life who are now my closest friends... I'm really curious to know if its just me...
Do you remember when you met your closest friends? Where you met them? And what got you so close to them??

My closest friends were always the ones I had in high school. These were friendships that were inseparable. Over the years i have lost touch with many of these friends. i often wonder where my closest friends are now and how life has treated them.
