I think at one time, I used to be completely "with it" as they said but now while I am not clueless, it is just an entirely different world. There is an insane amount of things in this world that I am quite baffled to see why something like that would be trendy. So I think that I would be considered to be out of touch, which I have no problem with. I'd rather be who I am, then selling out to the mainstream and just being uncomfortable with everything. So how with it are you?

Growing up, my parents never bought me trendy clothes. We got our clothes from modest stores, and to shop at the mall was a rare treat. So, we never really got the chance to be trendy. As I started to grow up and get a job of my own, I'd buy more clothes that might be considered trendy, but honestly I never could really afford to keep up with it. I'd like to be able to wear nice, trendy clothes, but just can't. On one hand, I think it's ridiculous how much money people spend just to look like every one else, but I'm also noticing how expensive it can be to even be "unique" and wear things that are "trendy" but not necessarily common.
I think when I'm older and more independent on myself, I will try to show my style, but right now it's just not really an option.

Yeah, I couldn't help thinking that. What makes something worth the money if everyone is wearing that same style? I just want to be able to go out and buy things because I like the way they look. And hopefully someday I won't have to worry about the price!

Yeah there are times I wonder how a lot of things were fashionable. They are very ugly to say the very least. Really not good at all. Still different tastes for different people. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yep I think that unless you're around that stuff on a regular basis, kind of out of sight, out of mind. Sure there might be times where you could hear what is cool but then again, information could be slightly out of date. Still I just stick with what works for me and I really don't think that is going to work with too many others. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I have never considered myself to be trendy. if i am doing something that is in fashion, it is probably just coincidence that this has happened. i just like to do or buy what pleases or interests me. if it is the same thing that interests someone else, that is all right with me too.

Yeah got to answer to yourself. Therefore you have to buy things that work well for you. If they work well for others, so much the better. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Just like you I love dressing up during my younger days. I do love to keep up with whats "in" at the moment. As I mature I do dress up for my pleasure. I do adapt some new ideas but make it my own version. It is also helpful to dress appropriately too. Office wear does not allow for dressing up because there is the presence of the office uniform. I do follow the color coordinates. I do love mixing colors from the primary and secondary color wheel. I do dress for comfort too. One cannot wear a sweater when its so hot outside that would make one look sick.

It is all about what you are comfortable with. I think that what many people tend to overlook as we have different levels of comfort. One person's comfort level is another level's torture. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well.

Way way way back in my younger days my mother couldn't really afford much, we used to have hand me downs and when i got somehing new it was always once it had been out for years. Years later when i started to own my own money i was able to buy a load of nice things, my apperance quickly changed and i was well how you would say moving with the times. Now however although i buy a lot i only do this to save money in the long run, i stock up when sales are on, i am not bothered if my clothes were last season, aslong as they are new and in great condition and look good and keep me warm then i am very happy. My money now goes on my children as they are my priority, they are now the trendy ones as they get my money spent on them rather than me, they look good and i am happy with that, i lokk ok in my stuff even though most of it is last season but still i am happy.

My philosophy is this. Along as it fits and looks halfway decent, then it will do. Plus the fact that stuff from the previous season or a couple of seasons ago tends to be marked down. And I am all about the deals. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Well, Twitter is the current rage. I never had an interest in using text messages, so I am two steps behind. Pretty soon I guess people will stop speaking with other altogether. We will all just tweet. Why anybody would care what I had for lunch is beyond me.

Twitter I'm on but its not like I live on it like some people I know. I mean, who cares if you scratch your nose or if you ate something or whatever. As for texting...never, I will never text for as long as I live. Never, never, never, NEVER! I don't care if I never have any interaction with another person again because of it. It just is a bit foolish as far as I am concerned. Thank you for your response.

I keep up with these things pretty well, meaning I know what the latest trends are. But I don't always like the latest trends, and if I don't, I don't go for it. I think some trends can be fun, so they serve a good purpose, but there are plenty of bad trends as well. So it is important to be selective with these things I think!

I know enough as well and not everything that I know is to my taste. Guess that is just a product of it being a different time. I guess every generation tends to go through this from time to time. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

well, it is not so bad to be trendy. i think it just depends on the person's priorities and likes. especially during adolescence when they try to fit in, im sure we all went through that phase. but as time goes by, our views and priorities differ. maybe it is truly who they are. but as for me, i just try to think about the trend and if suits me then okay, but if it doesn't still ok. :)

Priorities are important. We tend to lose who we are and that should be priority number one. The person that we need to answer to is the one that we look into the mirror. And if our likes tend to go with what is trendy, that is fine. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
