I just got a new laptop, and while it works great, I don't like the screen for watching videos. You have to be straight on to get a good clear picture, it all looks dark if you're looking at it from the side. I think most laptops are like that nowadays, but I was wondering if there is some way to fix that. My flat-screen desktop monitor doesn't look like that.

Laptops have a limited viewing angle cause they are lcd/tft screens. But improvements have been made and veiwing angles have been incresed considerably. You cant however expect to sit more than 60 degrees from direct line and still have a clear good view. The screens are manufactures that way and if we want better viewing angles, we need to invent better display technologies!

I wanna say some personal opinion. A lot of moniter screens also made by LCD but we often find some moniter especially the desktop monitor don't have the problem so I think the viewing angles of laptop screen is not concerned about the raw material of screens and It express the display technologies can supply satisfactory way to deal with viewing angles now It's just a problem of costing.

I have that problem on my daughter's laptop. Two people just can't watch it at once! Annoying but nothing you can do except buy another laptop. Why? Because there are different types of flat screens used on laptops, monitors and tv's. Which type is best I just don't know, but you definitely have the worst type.
