Internet surfers like to go Starbucks to have coffee and relax there... I was wondering why do they all go there... especially business man and students.. is it because of the coffee? the free internet? the comfort? or the quiet place? or the way they feel that rich people go Starbucks?
Where would you like to be? at home or be at starbucks drinking coffee?

I think it is the ambiance! The cozy place, the music, the smell of coffee.. If I have lot's of money I would like to go to Starbucks too every morning to have breakfast while surfing the net.

I suppose the ambiance or atmosphere of a place like that can be enticing. If it's for the coffee though, I prefer my own.
We have a place here called Tim Hortons and much like the person spoke of in one of the comments above, some people are there 3, 4 or 5 times a day to get a coffee. I even had neighbours that would go out in their pyjamas to go get a coffee in the morning just to bring it back home to drink it; I can't imagine doing that when it's so much more convenient to make my own, and like Starbucks, I don't even find their coffee is that good.
There has been much speculation going around though that these places have additives in their coffees that actually make people addicted to them. I don't know if it's true, but I wouldn't put it past 'em.

Its not about the addiction CynergyDiva, I think its about the comfort of being on an open air sofa where people are there to serve you whatever you order. Starbucks has some very special way to treat their customer which make them come back and have a nice time. Some people find their inspiration while being in these places...

There could be lots of reasons a person would go to starbucks to surf the web. Some of the more legitimate ones are that their home or work environment is more hectic or distracting than a Starbucks, that they are researching something that they don't want people in their home or work environment to ask about or perhaps they are lonely and like the company that surfing at a starbucks offers, or perhaps they don't have internet at home and are just taking advantage of the wifi. A few of the more shady reasons may be that they just want to be seen surfing there, are stalking a barista or perhaps they are keeping tabs on someone or meeting someone for a secret meeting or they're some sort of spy or hacker. I prefer to surf without an audience, in bed while watching TV. I wouldn't mind a to go earl gray latte to keep me company while I surf though!

Yea.. different people has their different motivation to go Starbucks. As for the boredom.. you are right.. i forgot to mention that... I, myself go there because am feeling lonely at home... and need company

Guess people go there because of the ambiance, I'm not really a fan of Starbucks, I'd rather surf and sip good coffee at home and save my money. I only go there if the person I would be dealing with prefers to meet in that place or any place for that matter, never went there alone or on my own

I just went to starbucks the other day, my second time going. I'm not much of a fan I like Caribou more, but that's maybe because I'm use to ordering there. Anyway, I like getting coffee and coffee places. They always taste better, AI love Mocha's. Mhm.... At home I just can't get the same taste.

for me man .. its about the class of the place ..some people go there even if there not rich ..maybe they just want to show that they can be a part of the social society...
