Space Tourism already existed, I think you have to required to pay the Russian government 20 million dollars so they will train you to be prepared for your space travel, but sadly you wont go to the moon or other planets yet since the technology is not yet as good yet. They will basicaly let you go tot he Russian space station and make you stay there for a couple of weeks and experience being an astronaut.
NASA also have the same program but I dont know how much is the price. The most attainable Space tourism we might see in our lifetime aside from a boring trip to Russian/NASA Space station, is the Moon colonization (there is already race between US and China when it comes to invading the moon) so Hotels in moon is something we can witness in the future and The so called Space hotel.
Richard Branson is already planning to make Space tourism cheaper. But its a long way. There is a company that is now planing to make a space hotel, its not going to be very far though, this space hotel will be on earth's surface.

Hi CaptAlbertWhisker,
Good topic to discuss, have you ever thought why we didn't go to moon after 1969? (More than 40 years)
If you talk about moon colonization and our technology advancement, I would say, it's not as easy as it seems.
There are so many things that we are not told. Check this video and think yourself if this could be the reason:

Before coming to any conclusion, you should watch this video (full version):

Let me know what do you think...

I think after Clinton administration there is already a plan to go back to the moon and explore Mars but The US government run out of Budget because of George W. Bush and his obsession with war against terror. You can also add the recession as part of the conflict. I know that the Apollo 13 is a failed attempt to go back to the moon. there are many problems like solar flares.

this is very interesting , and it will be a great experience.
im sure everyone of us wants to experience it.
but wtf? 20million dollars is heck of a money.
probably even they make it cheaper , 2million dollars.
it is still cost tons of money. O_O
Space Tourism is probably for those billionaires only.

I think 20 million dollars will go to the government to improve their technology I think, I think its helpful for the humanity because research will help space travel work further, Someday many humans might need to find home in another planet so we wont be over populated.

If i had this amount and could easily spend it without getting financially hurt then I would go for it! Imagine the experience and the thrill of being an astronaut. The one thing that bothers me if I took the trip is that this maybe my last vacation considering the risk that goes with this type of vacation.

I think there's still a long time before space tourism becomes a reality not only for the rich who don't know how to spend their money, but also for ordinary people.I hope that I'll live to see that day and to make a visit to space;until then, there are still many great things to see here on Earth.

For now rich people can enjoy it, I just hope that the time is fordable to regular people, It will be in our lifetime and generation. I think Space stations are the most attainable at this moment, other planets would be centuries from now but earth's moon might be accessible someday.
