what happened to rock? soft tunes? catchy music? and music we can actually understand what there saying? It seems like all the hot music today is rap, hip hop and non-understandable mis-pronounced words. They all just have 1 line that they repeat over and over again, and sing about things that dont make sense. Oh, and dont forget the auto-tune. What are your views on this?

Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you!!!!! Yuk. But you know what? We can go online to any of those music sights, type in the search area almost anything you want and can still listen to them. I'm talking aerosmith, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, Yes, Emerson Lake & palmer, etc. I no longer have an interest in watching the American Music Awards. And Aerosmith, from what I understand is supposed to be coming ou with one last albubm. Paul Mcartney still rocks and plays concerts. Alice Cooper, who's in his 60s still makes albums, though you never hear them on the radio. We'll see if these rappers are still around 30 years from now.
Rock and Roll Forever!!!

In my opinion, rap might be very popular in America .It may have some momentary advantage than other music genre these days. But for most listeners , I believe they should be more addicted in the music with beautiful melody and meaningful lyrics.
That is the music which can be enjoyed for long.

I don't think that anyone who can generalize an entire genre like that knows much about music. I listen to plenty of what can be considered rap and the lyrics are wonderful. I don't even know what auto-tune is, so I can't comment on that.

Well this is really disappointing that we have this kind of music today.
This kind of music and songs tells me that people use technology and computers to create music rather than talent, creativity, and life experience. It's sad that over time we won't have any talented musicians and composers. Really, really disappointing. People who listen to rap just fill their mind with junk and don't really understand what real music is all about. Trust me, it's more than a heavy beat and a three chord melody looped over and over. Sorry for my humble opinion.

I admit, there are numerous rap and hip hop artists out there making millions of dollars who are the least bit talented individuals I have ever seen. That being said, there is actually a lot of talented individuals out there in rap. Take Eminem, for instance. You can understand just about everything he says, he has great meaning behind his lyrics, and his words are poetic. Another hip-hop artist you should listen to is Atmosphere - he is from Minnesota and also has the same qualities as Eminem when it comes to lyrical genious.
Before you can judge something like you have, you need to know more about the subject than you do. You obviously don't listen to the music, or else you are basing your opinion on the little bit of rap or hip hop that you have heard.

I think rap music is becoming very common these days because youngsters like it very much. On the radio stations rap is being played than any other music. If you look at the Billboard chart, half of the songs belong to hip hop music.
