E-Readers: Yay or Nay?

I have been both reluctant to invest in an e-reader as well as compelled to invest in an e-reader. I think that it's an interesting concept, is perhaps environmentally friendly, and saves a lot of space. On the other hand, I think that the prices are odd for text..like buying flour but paying for cake. Someone once told me that most of the money that goes towards purchasing a book is actually because of the cover rather than the text itself (is this true?) I'm also just attached to the actual feel of books. What are your thoughts?

I still prefer good old fashion books. Like you, I get attached to them. I like collecting them, especially book series.

yeah you're right. i've tried to purchase on of those but did not appreciate it at all. it's still a wise thing to purchase a physical book because you can enjoy reading it anywhere, and can read texts without straining your eyes over the screen projecting radiation to your eyes. i would go for physical books, they can be far more useful than these what you called electronic books. physical books can be treasured and could be one of your greatest collections. so it's just worth your money buying a real copy.

I don't really like the idea of an e-reader I too prefer a physical book and I also don't want to splash out the money it takes to acquire an e-reader to enable me to read books. What happens when the product fails you will lose all your data most likely if you don't keep a back up. When I want to buy a book I'll buy a book not a books pages which are saved. Yeah I'd say the prices of books can be increased due to the paper used in printing and also the quality of the cover could add some value.
