why is it morning meal called as BREAKFAST

hi guys, my mind now is playing and keep on asking why is it our morning meal is called BREAKFAST? because the other meal, we never called lunchfast, dinnerfast. using other word in our morning meals is somehow tricky. with my own analysis perhaps its called breakfast because BREAK was to end, the FAST is the period for not eating overnight. how about you there? just share your funny informative opinions.

You are right. Breakfast does mean what you said, break in the period of not eating. But its very important that we don't break it very fast and hard. I mean we should not eat very heavy food. If you do that, you know what happens when you suddenly break the fast speeding car. For the better metabolism, one must each something, which is light and easy to digest during breakfast.

Yeah it is simply down to the fact you are breaking your fast once you wake from your sleep.

Hi. Yes, your analysis is correct. It's called breakfast because is indeed the meal that breaks the 'fasting period' you underwent when you were sleeping during the night.

Possibly because during the night is the longest period between meals, so it could be considered "fasting". When you wake up the next day, you are "breaking" that "fasting"... so breakfast.
