I'm kinda confused why people go for affiliate marketing and things of that sort. But with internet testimonies, i'm in a dilemma to take this up as a mainstream gig. Need your help on this. Thanks in advance for sharing..

"internet jobs are always part time" In terms of making a successful living, they may not be (there is always the myth that you can 'spend just two hours a week and make $100,000 a month!'). Many people, of course, try to sell their 'methods' and 'systems' based on how little time you need to spend but most of them are, at the very least, economical with the truth. Most worthwhile Internet jobs are likely to be full time (often very much more than 'full time' if they are your own business ... and especially at first) ... and notice that I said 'worthwhile': there are many which can hardly even be called 'jobs'.

Well said owlwings, I thought the same thing when I saw that sentence! There are indeed plenty of people who do make a full time living by doing that. But it is not easy, and not for lazy people!

The very first things that you should ask yourself (and many people are so enamoured of the 'possible' earnings that they forget) is "Am I the kind of person who will be good at or even comfortable working for myself?" There are many people who really prefer working for someone else and receiving a known and regular salary. When you are self-employed, you are answerable to yourself and to the people who depend on you. Besides, your earnings in any new venture are inclined to be low and unpredictable, especially at first. It takes a great deal of hard work and self-discipline to build up a good and reliable business and you can expect to have a considerable time - maybe two years - of very hard and focussed work. Many people cannot cope with that. Before you start any kind of job, it is essential to ask yourself several very searching and pertinent questions ... and to make sure that your answers are brutally honest!
