i don't have trust with my voice only for some who often times heard me singing and they are appreciating my voice. i don't have any idea about my voice type and quality. i can sing the keith urban's, tim mcgraw's, clay walker's and rascal flat's type of song. when i was younger i used to be an avid fan of singers. mostly spanish singers. i have a cousin who was of my age and we were always imitating the way who ever singers performed. being younger i used to hide inside the room singing and i did not want anyone to see. i was very shy and may be because of my family upbringing i did not continue on this talent. in the outside world nobody cares whether i can sing or not. this made me decide to ignore this talent.. i'm still an aspiring singer and i think it is not yet too late for me to improve and develop... lol

I don't trust my voice either. My voice sounds like Donald duck with a mix of an ambulance siren.

..Hi there zills66, It sounds as if you have a good voice for singing, shyness is a problem a lot of people have. Especially if you are going to sing solo in front of an audience. You should explore using your talent, develop your vocal skills. One place that you could do that would be at those karoke gatherings. Go to a few of those and see how you are received, it should be fun for you. So try it, you might be discovered by someone, you never know. I am not making a joke. Cheers.

...In answer to your original question, I used to sing with a group and once lead a song with a choir, but now a days I only sing to myself. "o)

with the absence of karaoke bar or any socializing outlet in this place artistry, that is not possible. although, i always had a round of applause from the audience when i happened to sing in this kind of gatherings. not in this place but done over there, out of kingdom. neighbors from my apartment might call me rude either when me myself with my round of friends do the honkytonksbadongkadonks as we used before..

I don't think so... I liek singing but I am definitely not brave enough to sing in front of lots of people or even soem audience only. I only enjoy singing with my families or some friends. I think I don't sing bad but not great. I would very shy if I had to sing in front of lots of strangers and I probably could give a good performance due to the nervousness and shyness.

It's not that I don't trust my voice...the right thing to say for me probably is that I don't have a quality singing voice. I've been a choir member during my younger years, and they believe that I have voice for singing, but I don't know why I couldn't sing alone. While in a group, I know I can do the best to reach a very hight pitch, but I believe that singing in choir is very much different in singing alone. During bonding time with friends or even family gatherings and they want to have fun singing, I could not participate for my voice is really quivering. Some say that I have the voice, what I need is confidence. I can even read notes and get the right pitch, but I really can't sing alone, especially of course in front of many people, but if it will be in group, I can assure that I can give my best. Just wishing to over come this fear, though I know that would only be a wishful thinking.

When i was in high school, i had a try to join a guitar lesson offered by the guidance and councelling office. though i was able to buy a guitar worth 70 pesos -that's the name of our currency before, now euro with my mother's apporval, it did not materialize due to the university's failure to offer the service. it only lasted for a week. so i just continued learning at home on my own. i did learn how to play the guitar as i never felt bored strumming alone. i sing during family occasions with my guitar in the living room. there was no microphone and i have not heard my voice quivering. it's funny to say that i feel nervous and seem like i could swallow my voice with the use of microphone. what do we call that? microphobia? hahaha.. anyway, i want to try now as i have been exposed and speaking many times in front of many people with different nationalities.

Hi zills! My mother was a soprano and my father a tenor. While I am the type who sings while taking my shower. I had an experience not so long ago where I sang while a friend was playing the piano and she said we can do it in public. I said, definitly, no! I am a very private person. I am a pianist but I play best when I do it for my private consumption. I would find myself diminished in public. I give piano lessons though and I love passing on my skills.

hello figurativeyou! nice to hear you again here. may be you could still keep as you as being a private person if you followed your friend's proposal and that is to become a singing duo.

I am not confident with myself. Especially when it comes with singing. I have no talent of seeing. I have an ugly voice which cannot sing high tones or even low tones. I cannot even sing the song "Row Your Boat" without losing the pitch of my voice. I am so embarrassed with it. But, even though I have no talent in singing, I can play guitar, piano and violin. I just learned playing those easily. I am playing guitar or piano when i am bored while I am playing the violin when I am lonely and play sad songs.

I have sung in front of audiences many years ago when I was a professional entertainer, but when I changed my career, I didn't use my voice except to sing in the shower .. As a result of this, my voice has grown weaker, so I wouldn't sing in public now or people would probably say I was a has-been or something similar! _Derek

I did a recording a long time ago with a band. It was made into a disk (vinyl) and was for sale at a summter season gig we were doing. It wasn't anything original, just our own version of songs that were around at that time. I used to have a copy, but now I don't have it any more and the recording studio where we made the disc is no longer in business. _Derek

I really am a terrible singer but I dont let it bother me. I enjoy singing along when I hear songs that I like come on the radio. I just sign and figure oh well let them have to listen to it they probably cant sing that good either lol. I'm ok doing karokee as long as someone else is singing with me and thats just for fun. Its not like I would ever go on american idol thinking I was going to make it as a star lol.

hi zills I can sing with the choir as an alto but I am not good enough to sing solo. no I do not trust myself as a solist but I sang in our high school choir and our church choir and our college choir too.but you sound like you have the talent but need lessons and work on improving your talent and your stage oresence.do give it a go as you will never regret it and if you are not A numberone maybe you will be number two.It is not too late to follow your dreams now and you will never regret that.

some turned good singers started singing in the karaoke bar. i think we could get ourselves started that way too.. who knows after tens or hundred of songs everyday, we could overcome our fear.

It's good you can sing those songs of them with high notes. For me, I can only select those of Alan Jackson and the others whose songs are in the lower notes. Yet, I am asked to sing mostly in social gatherings and community programs. I think you have a potential.

Every now and then I will sing here at the house and people tell me I sing good and people used to all the time when I was younger. I had more courage back then to sing in front of people and I was still real bashful. I don't think I could do it now because I haven't sung to people as much so I don't know how good I would be and I don't have any songs memorized to sing like I did then.

i love music but music doesn't love me. if you really want to sing and become a prof. singer, i must say, be courageous enough to improve it. And don't ever doubt yourself and your capability.
