My "Stay at Home Mom" Dilemma

I've been a stay at home mom for nearly 4 years. I love every minute of it -- spending every day with my girls, cleaning the house, cooking. I really do love to take care of my family. Recently, I've been overwhelmed with a serious feeling of guilt though. Every day my husband works so hard outside of the home to financially support our family while I get to live the good life playing with my kids. I know, I know...I've said it myself before -- being a stay at home mom is work too. I'm the maid, the cook, the babysitter, the teacher. I've got a whole list of full time jobs wrapped into one. Still, I get to share every minute of that with my precious little girls. To take some of the financial burden off of my husband, I've tried several "money making" web sites, but I haven't found anything with great pay outs yet. I also feel like I'm cheating my girls out of their time with me trying to make an extra dollar. My husband says its not a big deal and we don't really need the extra cash anyway. I just feel like he might be able to enjoy a little more time with the kids if I could make a little extra in my "free time." Has anyone else been faced with a similar situation before? How did you deal with it? What was the end result? I'd love to hear your stories/opinions/suggestions!

I'm not exactly a "stay at home mom" but I am the caregiver to my adult son who was seriously injured in an accident. Almost all of my income comes through working on line. (not married so there's nothing there!) I do sometimes feel like I am neglecting him to work..even though he still sleeps a lot! I have to try to balance it all out. I set daily goals and that seems to help. I also have certain times that I cannot work on line (bathing/ feeding times). Maybe you could shift your work until later when they are in bed, or if they are watching a movie. I do a lot of mine when I get my son to bed for the night.

Thanks! That sounds like a logical solution to my problem. I'm working on my Master's Degree right now too. That's normally when I do my school work. I could stay up a while longer and do some other online work though. Do you mind me asking what kind of work you do online? I'm trying to find something that's effective, not a get rich quick scam. (If it sounds too good to be true...it normally is, right?)
