Video Games or Not?

My oldest daughter has recently become interested in video games. I'm ok with her playing the games (or watching someone else play them) every once in a while. I don't want her to be one of those kids that ALWAYS has their portable game in their hands. I have a friend who says, "They're only kids once. Let them have their fun." Her kids always have their game in the pocket. I think kids can "have their fun" in a lot of other ways. Video games aren't the only type of stimulation for kids. Maybe I'm just "old school" though. I'm just wondering how everyone else feels about it. Should parents limit video game playing? I say YES....what about you?

I'm a teenager and I agree with you. I play just dance and sport games once in a while when I want to dance or have a sudden urg. I play some games that invole vilence for like and hour per month. I don't feel like I'm fring my brain. MOstly because im riding horses playing at the park or reading, drawing, even playing my puzzles. I always listen to music to stay calm, is that always a good thing?

You've found great ways to fill your time. I think it's really important for kids (teenagers too) to be involved in a variety of activities. It give you a chance to try different things and figure out what really interests you. If you have a good understanding of the things you enjoy, you'll be more likely to choose a career that you'll enjoy later in life.
