They probably have hearing defects from all that loud banging music. And so they turn it up even more.
But I am not fond of setting the volume to its loudest when listening to music. Aside from its being ear-shattering, it is not my idea of relaxing through music.
I listen to music to relax so I try to keep the volume to a level where I could appreciate what I am listening to and soothe down my nerves.

I don't think loud music is necessary either, it should relax you but not blow up your ear!

I think as long as we don't bother others is perfectly fine but my neighbor is too selfish

We also have neighbors lie that too- they do karaoke though. Their voices are so loud and sometimes awful that we have to close the windows when they start singing and turning the music up. Sometimes it lasts until dawn and it's hard to sleep. Maybe you can talk to them to turn the music down a bit.

No, I don't turn on the volume high when I am listening to CDs or radio. I prefer and enjoy low volume when listening to music. That's more pleasant and relaxing. Yes, I know what you mean. Some neighbors get very annoying turning on the volumes so high. They are not conscious how disturbing that can get for their neighbors. Amazing !

Whenever I'm listening to music I turn it us to the highest possible volume level especially if I'm listening to Breaking Benjamin, Rage Against the Machine, or Audioslave. Their music rocks!

It really does depend the circumstances, where I am, and who is around. Obviously it is very rude to blast loud music at five in the morning or even really late at night. Of course, there should be certain people who really should learn that. Also blaring the music really loud, when driving down the road, when I can hear it while sitting in my car, that is really too loud. I like cranking up the music just a tiny bit, but there are times where people turn it up too loud.
I think turning it up just a little bit, in your house, with the windows shut, would be fine. As lot it is not completely outrageous. Of course, there are going to be people who take this to a more outrageous level and really start blaring the music much louder. There is really nothing worse than trying to go to sleep and suddenly hearing the booming of music. It really is distracting. So it does depend on the time of day, who is around, and where you are. If nothing else, if the sun has gone down, its time to turn it down.

When I was a teenager we had this stereo with four big speakers which was marketed as quadrasonic. I turned it up so loud that even me was stunned by the loudness and the pumping of the beat of the stereo. Alas, this was the days of care free youth time.

I am a music listener, but I don't see the point of turning the volume to the maximum when I'm in my room;I listen to it loud enough to please me,but I also think about my neighbours, because we have to respect each other since we have to live in the same block;and when night comes,I only listen to headphones.I know how annoying it is when you have to rest and some silly neighbours listen to music really loud.I think your neighbours have a low IQ if they don't realize that they bother other people.

Yes i agree with you. Many people listen to the music all day,all night and in loud voice.I think this is not good because if you are listening all day or all night then it becomes more trace full to our body.

I think as soon as the volume doesn't bother your neighbor, it's okay...

In the summer I listen to my music real high when kids are playing outside. In the winter I belive it's just rude. So i listen with it low. Either that or I listen with earphones.
