The other day, I heard on TV that playing in the dirt makes people happy and it stimulates your happy hormones! What do you think of that? I have to agree! I think that's why some of us enjoy gardening and being out in nature also. Every time I hang out in the garden, I feel so energized. What about you?

It does! Playing with earth always reminds me of my childhood. Growing up in the farm means you played with dirt all the time. Childhood was sweet. Now, gardening is a destressing activity for me. It helps me connect with mother earth even though I'm right in the middle of the urban jungle. And you're right, it does energize you!

Right? They even mentioned how it's good that kids play and get dirty!

Yup, kids who grew up getting dirty (like me) are more resistant to illnesses than those who've been ultra sanitized since day 1. So, mothers, let them out and let them play (the dirtier, the more fun)! Dirt gets washed away, anyway.

When I owned my home for so many years, I can't begin to tell you how I rushed home, even after a hard and stressful day, simply to go into to my garden and ramble through dirt. I loved pulling weeds and rearranging my plants as something about it was therapeutic a little hard to explain but really always comforted me.

I agree 100% and I wish I didn't live in an apartment right now. I miss working out in the backyard and gardening so much! It's very therapeutic (hope I spelled that right, lol!) and I use to be outside for hours upon hours. I had a garden when I was in elementary school and that's where I got to love the great outdoors. I love camping too and being surrounded by nature. Right now I live in the city right on a main street. Even though it's fun sometimes, I would rather be in the woods, haha.

I agree! Humans have been displaced from their origin for a long time, no wonder we're all going mad.

Definitely true, when you care for your garden and the flowers bloom. It is a wonderful sight which makes you happy and contended.Similarly the fruit trees which bear fruit give immense satisfaction.Tending to the garden and spending time there rejuvenates us.

I agree and I don't think anyone can disagree at how much happiness nature gives us.

Hi Lore, Its True to the fact that Mother Nature is the ultimate,on the lap of which everything is PERFECT & most satisfying. Therefore it is our out-most Duty to Protect our Mother Nature and at the same time be as much close to IT as possible. Its very unfortunate quite a whole lot of human-beings are bend-upon to destroy the Mother-Nature for the sake of few Dollars/hegemonic(brute power or dominance) as such forgetting that Nothing will survive if the Mother-Nature is kept on abused for ever. Happy Mylotting & Indulge In the Mother-Nature's Lap.

I agree. Many people need to realize where they came from, from mother earth.
