Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has sealed a record move to Chelsea. Torres has signed a five and a half year deal. Chelsea bought the Spanish striker for 50 million euros.
Torres' salary will make him one of the highest paid players at stamford bridge. The forward's transfer was the fourth most expensive transfer in history.
This was an amazing addition for Chelsea. He is a world class forward with the skill, talent, shooting, technical ability, dribbling, and pace to really help out Chelsea. However he has been injured a lot recently which should be a concern for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, for Liverpool, this is a bad move. Just because they got Luis Suarez do they think that they don't need Torres anymore? But they also signed Andy Carrol from Newcastle for 35 million euros, which is a great move for the 20 year old and for Liverpool.
What are your thoughts on this transfer?

It was good for both sides. But Chelsea I think got the better end of the deal. Sure they didn't make as much money as Liverpool did but they have added a striker to their league and champions league roster. Chelsea has definitely improved their odds of winning the champions league and the league and watch for Torres to have a big game on Sunday.

I actually think it was a good deal for Liverpool. But Chelsea now has a bigger problem of which strikers to play. I think they will be offloading at least one or two strikers during the summer. I would actually not rule out a move of Drogba to Real Madrid in the summer to leave Torres as the big dog out there.
Cheers!

I think Torres won't be that much successful at Chelsea. Still, I would like to see the shape of the Chelsea squad now that Torres is arrived. Chelsea are having problems in midfield and are seriously lacking creativity. Without that, even Torres can't do much.
Liverpool are making desperate attempts to get those glory days back. But they need to re organize their entire team given that there is hardly any co ordination among the players.
Lets see where both these teams will be at the end of the season.
