What's the volume of your ear/head phone when you listen to music??

Some people I meet and some of my friends tend to turn up the music (almost the maximum) when they're listening to it in an ipod or mp4- I can even hear the song even though I am 1 or 2 meters apart from them. Doesn't this damage our ears, it can even lead to being deaf. People shouldn't really abuse their ears...Even I don't reach the 40% of the maximum volume- that's just too loud.

Dear lady1993, I agree with you, we should listen music song but our headphone should be keep in very proper way. I think 40 to 50 % of volumn is enough while listening from headphone. Thanks

YEs, definitely 40-50 percent is the maximum volume that we should use. I heard in a show/documentary that 50 percent is the really the maximum, anything more can already harm our ears.

I like the music loud too- but just loud enough for me to hear it..without other people hearing it.. But at least you still care about your ears.

I had a look. I am at 60%. Am I older and already deaf, or is it because I am mainly listening piano and chamber music with no drums ?
