Last year, I was diagnosed with a heart problem when I had a routine EKG done before a colonoscopy. It was determined that earlier that year I had a heart attack without ever knowing it. Aspirin was prescribed for me on a daily basis by my cardiologist. I take a baby chewable aspirin every day because I also have gastrointestinal problems and that is easier on my stomach. It also helps me keep from getting blood clots in my legs because when I had tests done by the cardiologist they also determined I have peripheral artery disease in my legs. I have also crushed aspirin and put it on a bad tooth to help with pain relief. Now I have discovered a pain patch made by Top Care that contains aspirin. I have been using it every day since straining my back and it is helping a lot.

Yes Aspirin is good when you have bad varicose veins too, my doctor too told me to take a baby aspirin a day because my bad varicose veins although I don't do it because I have a very sensitive stomach and the Aspirin would not help it. It put me in a different situation,so I do take Acetaminophen when I need too, but again my stomach would not stand it very long a daily bases, so I go the natural way with herbs, hope you are doing well or better from your legs, hope that you can go for walks often too.

Most of the heart attacks and strokes occur when the blood supply to a part of your heart muscle or brain blocked .This usually starts with atherosclerosis,a process in which deposits of fatty substances ,cholesterol, cellular waste products, calcium and other substances build up in the inner lining of an artery. This buildup is called plaque.
Plaque usually affects large and medium-sized arteries. Plaques can grow large enough to significantly reduce the blood's flow through an artery . . But most of the damage occurs when a plaque becomes fragile and ruptures. Plaques that rupture cause blood clots to form hat can block blood flow or break off and travel to another part of the body. This is called an embolism.
- If a blood clot blocks a blood vessel that feeds the heart, it causes a heart attack.
- If a blood clot blocks a blood vessel that feeds the brain, it causes a stroke.
Aspirin “thins” the blood and helps prevent blood clots from forming. So it helps prevent heart attack and stroke.
Taking aspirin isn't advised during a stroke because not all strokes are caused by blood clots. Most strokes are caused by clots, but some are caused by ruptured blood vessels. Taking aspirin could potentially make these bleeding strokes more severe.
And finally The best way to know if you’re a candidate for aspirin therapy is to ask your healthcare provider. You should not start aspirin on your own . The risks and benefits of aspirin therapy vary for each person.
AHA Recommendation :
People at high risk of heart attack should take a daily low-dose of aspirin (if told to by their healthcare provider) and that heart attack survivors regularly take low-dose aspirin.

Well, as a heart patient myself, I have been taking 150mgs of Aspirin every day for the last 5 years. I am very sorry to note, because of your other problems, you are not able to take the complete course.
I have not heard of this pain patch. We do not have this product in India.

I have heard of Aspirin benefits for people who are prone or who have had heart attacks. The patch I will look up as my boyfriend's mother suffers from back pain quite a bit and does not like taking pain medications.
Thanks for sharing and I do hope you start feeling better soon as it has been quite a year for you.
