I have a friend for almost 10 years already and she is thin way back when we were still in our college days. But recently, I noticed that she is eating less and less, saying that she wants to be more thinner. I try to explain to her that she doesn't need to lose weight, and if she needed to, that wouldn't be the way to do it, but she says that she feels that she has to. How can I make her realize that anorexia is not the solution?

I have a cousin with the same problem. As a matter of fact it has gotten to the point where I fear for her life. Unfortunately if they don't recognize that they have a problem there isn't much you can do to help. She would need professional help as this may have become a psychological problem..but in order to heel she needs to want the help. I have come to the conclusion that all I could do is to continue to address the problem and let her know that I am there to support her. Most of all pray for her.
