If you would become a teacher, what qualities will you possess?

I have been into a study on students' preferences on the qualities or traits that they want for in a teacher in order for them to learn effectively. So my question goes like this, "If you would become a teacher, what qualities will you posses?" Or, "What are the traits that you want a teacher to have?"

Dear Sais!
I think I can be a good teacher of science and Mathematics for the reasons I am quoting below:
1. I have got in depth knowledge about these subjects with clear cut basics or fundamental concepts.
2. I have got the skill of expressing the subject to the students in a way that they can easily understand it.
3, I have got patience, so that I can patiently hear to the difficulties faced by the students.
4. I have got cool temperament so that I won't loose my temperament easily to scare the students.
5. I am sincere and I can set example of this trait to my students.
6. I am hard working, honest and neat and cleaning in my work. This will definitely impress my students.
7. I have got command over my language, which will help me to create easy rapport with my students.
8. I am always smiling and bit humorous also. This trait can make my students interested in my period/ class.
9. I was an average student in School and so I know what exactly the problems an average student can have, and this will make my job easier.
10. Lastly I got flair for teaching!
I think these qualities of mine should make me a good teacher! Thanks !

In Fact dear Sais as I said I got a flair for teaching, I used to take private tut ions when I was in my Veterinary College, exclusively for those students who were average or below average and used to enjoy the teaching along with making some good pocket money for me! Believe me almost all students of that time of mine are doing absolutely well in their respective lives . I know some f them they are Officers in Government Job, One of them is Manager in Insurance Company, a couple of them are holding good posts in Indian Railways , One is a Teacher by her self etc etc. This really gives me immense pleasure when they send me surprised greetings! That is the great achievement any teacher can have,I believe! Thanks !

Yes I have also heard some teachers say that it was their great achievement seeing or knowing their students have become successful in their chosen fields. I would feel the same way too especially if they will acknowledge you as part of their success or what they have become in life.
Again is having a flair for teaching just come naturally or something else?

Oh that's easy, a teacher who can spot a student struggling and gets them help right away. I have always struggled in math and only one year did I do well, and that is because the teacher took his time to explain it to me. But, that was one year, usually classrooms have too many students and if the teacher took the time to work with one student, the others will get bored and not able to move forward. This is one reason I wanted to become a para-professional, people who comes in and helps with either the students who are falling behind or for those who need more challenges because the work is too easy.

Yes I have already encountered a teacher like that. He knew that we were struggling on his subject and tried to motivate us but it didn't help. I guess it's his method of teaching us that makes us struggle that time. Yet still thankful I passed that subject. By the way that a subject on probability and statistics. That was really very difficult.

If I able to teachers at first I will be a good friend to all of my students. I will tell to all of my students that you may share any problem with me. I in our school or college life we had to face many problem and situation but we never able to share this problem or situation with any experienced person. I want to friend to all of my students then I think that my all students will start to read more responsibly.

I would want a teacher who is kind, caring, and understand. He or she must have a solid understanding of the content are he or she teaches. I would also want a teacher with a philosophy and psychology of education grounded in educational theory. This would ensure that the strategies the teacher uses are research-based and proven to be effective.
