If you were able to get a job writing a monthly article for any major magazine for one year, what magazine would you write for, and what would the subject of your articles be?
I would like to write for either SHAPE or Fitness, and my articles would be on how someone with no budget, and no at home exercise equipment can best use what is at hand to lose weight and get fit.

I don't know if there are really any "new" ways to lose weight. It all comes down to burning more calories than you consume.

There are foods that help to burn fat. there are things that you can do or eat to boost your metabolism. Losing weight is all that it comes down to. but how are you going to do it? dance, aerobics, join the gym, weight training? all this counts right!? i want to write about that :) new and exciting ways than the usual.

You seem to be well informed about foods and metabolism. Ok then when are you imparting this knowledge to us :) DO you have any blog giving these informations. If yes, I would certainly want to read it :)

One of two areas: either something to the effect of web design or games. Going into web design, that would mean how to go about validating HTML web pages, transitioning to XHTML. Going into detail about CSS and why it should be used and its benefits. I can review video games of all types. Probably something like Game Informer or anything of that caliber. I guess you could say something technological.

Indeed. Both areas I could work with and feel the most comfortable writing about.

Writing about gaming could be fun. And web design could be really informative.

I would definitely love to write for a magazine too. If ever I would be given the chance to write an article, I would love to write some extraordinary practices around the world, exotic food, tradition or something like that. I love trivia and new things to read in magazines. Something that's gonna catch one's attention.

That would be fun. Would you travel a lot to better experience what you're wrote about?

I would definitely love to do that. I love traveling and experiencing new things. Imagine the places I could visit and people I might meet along the way. I would love to learn new things about places and people and let others know about it through my articles.

I would love to write fiction based serial. I love fiction stories. I also like playing critic to a situation. sharing my views on certain issues is also on the cards. But i think I will stick to writing stories because that is where my interest lies. Have you ever been interested in a good book. How many here are avid novel readers? I wonder?

I love fiction too. I hardly read non-fiction, but devour novels. I don't think very many magazines offer fiction stories too often.

ya i used to read womens era regularly when i was at moms place..
i loved reading campus rumpus, and other real experiences writers shared about. But i must say a good novel will make me forgo my food also. I will be like, let this suspense unfold, then I will eat. A suspence story well written will surely make anybody curious to know the end. Dont you think so?

I would love to write about my experiences of mental health, clinical depression as well as men suffering abuse, so it would have to be a specialist magazine. I think my experiences would be invaluable to others. I know myself that it can be an isolated world when you suffer from depression and have mental health issues. I am not sure if there would be a market it however, a lot of men are not keen to admit to their feelings or needing help as a sign of weakness which is a great shame.

I think that would be a very interesting read. I've been reading a little the past two days about men who are being abused, as opposed to being the abusers.

I'd probably write for a men's magazine. It doesn't matter which publication as long as I'd be able to write about cars and other vehicles. Where I'm from, when you write about cars, usually the car companies loan you a car for a few weeks so you could personally experience what driving that type of car can be. So I get to drive a different car each month.

It would be fun, getting to drive a lot of different great cars just to be able to write about them.

There are several different magazines I would enjoy writing for. Fitness or nutrition would either one be fun. Making money on line or managing money on a tight budget - like how to cut expenses would be fun too. Or I would enjoy writing for a religious magazine.

I read my fitness mags till they fall apart. I could use more ways to make money online. I get money from different places, but they all take SO LONG to pay me by the time I get the money I don't need it anymore.

I think it would be a fascinating article writing job to work for people magazine. Getting to see and talk to your favorite celebrities and get paid for it too would be like a dream come true.

I don't know how often the writers of People actually talk to celebrities. From what I've seen , there are not very many interviews and lots of random photos.

I honestly don't know what magazine I am going to fit in. I am not the writing type of person, and I surely don't know what topic I should choose to start writing. I am sitting on my desk for a half day, and my brain still blank, and come out nothing useful for the content. I have encountered such incidents many occasions.

I have a similar problem. I want to be a writer so badly, but can't think of a thing to write about on a regular basis.

I don't read lots of magazines, I am more into books, but if I could write for a magazine, I would like to write one about astronomy or paranormal stuff. I know there used to be one about astronomy a while back, but I forgot the name. As for paranormal stuff, I am not even sure if there is one. I am very knowledgeable when it comes to these subjects. I know I'll do good. It must be awesome having something really published, not just some crappy article online if you know what I mean.

I think you're the first to respond that you would be a sports writer. You would think it would be a bigger field, since there are so many types of sports, and everyone seems to be a fan of something.
