I asked my accountant if she would let me have a budget template sheet so that next year my accounts will look like what she needs and not what I want to give her. She sent me something that I am struggling to make sense of. Have you ever asked an expert for advice and then wondered if it was worth the effort?

Well I'm my own expert on many things, so I always makes sense to myself so I'm definitely worth the effort! LOL

If you would have ask my advice I think your expenditure would be doubled. I have an expert at my home. She is my wife(Boss). So I'm reluctant.

Being an expert in some area can mean have forgotten what others don't know. You begin to think that everything you find easy is easy for everyone else. She did send you what you ask. She sent you what she needs from you. In the form she knows best.
When I ask an expert for advice, I ask for detailed explanations. Then you can ask the questions you need to. It is just as difficult for an expert to know what you need as it is for you to know what to ask. No true expert feels bad about answering questions about what they do and why they need it. Just don't feel ashamed to ask.

Yes, lawyer who did't have a clue what I was talking about. They claim to be specialist of everything , but they are not.
Anyway, without a lawyer, I was able to find what I was looking for by myself.

okay zoom went my first response darn so copy to clipboard every sentence ugh this past summer I started out with an ugly itchy rash on my right let which my doctor could not cure, he tried antibiotics and steriods and it just got bigger. so he sent me to a socalled dermatologist. okay finally saw the dermatologist . He said I have a severe caser of dermatitis well gee golly even I knew that. And he putme on y et another antibiotic and more skiin cream and also referred me to a wound specialistl and I a m thinking what good did it do for him to tell me its severe whic h I had already figured out and that my skin, my deram is irritated, gee I knew that as thats why I came to him. I feel like I am getting the run a around as I expected the dermatologist to be trained to diagnose and treat skin rashes even if I am a diab etic. He really did nothing for me, so why did he not be hones and say Mrs. Hately I really do not know what that is so am sending you to a wound specialist as you are a diabetic. I do not want to take any chances. why c annot experts just say this is beyond my expertise?

there are some sort of legal documents, like an affidavit, that i can make myself. but if i am not sure of the terminologies or something that i have to put there, i always consult the professionals. i am not a lawyer but i work with the lawyers.

Oh, dear, I think I just did something like this minutes ago. A friend asked for my help with the translation of some bank statements (guess I count as an expert, I've worked in the translation area for some long years).
Instead of just referring her to a good and cheap translator, I started giving all sorts of recommendations - whether the translator has to be certified or not, whether the translation has to be approved by a public notary or not, whether it has to comply with the new EU terminology which became mandatory over here only six months ago... I don't think I've been much help, I'll try to make it up tomorrow by finding her a really good translator.
It happens, I guess, when you've worked in a field for too long, you get so familiar with the details, you don't understand what others don't understand

Maybe you can ask your accountant again, making your request more specific. Maybe she just didn't understand what you said.
Anyway, I have also experienced that. I was asking someone to explain me the contents of a book, but when he told me what he thinks, I thought mine was far better than his. I go for another opinion from another friend. I don't blame him for giving me something which is below what I expect, maybe there's just problems that affected his "perception of things".
