It's raining cats and dogs here and I miss taking baths in the rain on times like these. When I was a child, the rain was something me and my other neighbor's children love, now it just makes me cold and stuck at home, not that I really hate it. I just miss the feeling of being excited when the rain comes. I could see children now bathing outside on the street, and reminds me of those happy days. I wish I could still take a bath under the rain now but I'm not feeling well and afraid that I might get sick. Anyway, how about you guys, what does the rain bring to you?

Whenever it rains, I might sleep more, or I would be sleep better under the rainy days. Well, last night was raining and it was so big. I could relate to it when I was a child. Now, I am vulnerable to get sick.

i never experience playing in the rain when i was a child, my mom was so strict about doing that during that time maybe due to the fact that i was a sickly kid back then, not that i am mad at her or anything but i also wish i had an experience like that so i could probably share it here..lol.
i made a promise to myself though that when i have kids i will let them play outside and bath in the rain once in a while.

I have same experiences when I was a kid. My playmates would knock on my door just to ask me to bathe in the rain. I remember how I used to beg my mom to let me bathe in the rain. After a few pleas, she would allow my brother and I to bathe in the rain with some of our neighbors. It was totally fun. Back then, there's not much pollution so the rain that falls down doesn't have too many chemicals with it. I miss those days.

Yes, whenever its rain, i feel like calling friends and going on long ride on a bicycle or a scooter as i did during my school. We had a hell lotta fun during those days. But i cant do that now, since i am no longer in touch with those special friends. And ya with growing age, i fear that i might catch cold if i get wet like that in rain. Those days are gone, leaving memories behind.

I used to love in the summer time to go outside in the rain when I was a kid. Just about everytime it rained I would do that. I remember it feeling so amazing while I was out there and coming in so cold and wrapping up in a nice big towel. I have only twice allowed my daughter to play in the rain as it usually just seems to cold to let her play in the rain. Hopefully this summer we will get some really hot days and the rain will be semi warm for the kids to play in while I stay dry on my porch watching them dance in the rain hehe.

The only rain that we aren't allowed to take a bath in is when the sun's out. Most old people in our place believe that it can cause sickness. I am not really sure if it's true though. I, too love the summer rain because it feels refreshing and not too cold.

Hi jazel_juan. Whew! The rain, at last, stopped but it's too cold now right? Well you could probably let your kids at least try the experience even just for a short time. Just make ready the towels. They might remember it as one of the happiest childhood experience of their life, don't you think?
Anyway, good thing there's mylot for us on weathers like these.

Gee, I miss those carefree days. I was still in grade school when I last took a bath in the rain. Although I got drenched a couple of times when I grew older, but I don't think that has the same effect. Nowadays, rain brings me a sense of peace. Not the stormy kind of rain. Rain that's just enough not to be called a drizzle.

Very true.
Getting wet in the rain before, during those carefree childhood days was really something while being drenched nowadays is a whole lot different. In times when I feel lonely, rain does have that effect on me, the sense of peace. Thank you for sharing this.

Rain is a very weird for me. As a kid, i hate the rain because it always gets all of my clothes and shoes wet. I didn't own a pair of rain boots so it wasn't as much fun anymore. Now is a bit different, right now i love the rain. I love how they provides us with a different view from our regular daily lives and the fresh air you breath in. Also playing sports in the rain, is just one of the best thing life can bring you. Although there are many side effects as the major one is getting sick. Playing sports in the rain really gives a different sensation. As the rain poured down on your clothes, playing sports as your body cools is really fun. At least that's what i find rain so interesting!

There were times as a child, even now as an adult, wherein the rain just makes me feel down, too, especially with the knowing that it could get our clothes wet and shoes muddy and all. I notice that you have that gift of admiring nature's beauty even in it's simple way. I have experienced playing basketball under the rain but it was really dangerous because the open-court got slippery and the ball bounces funny when it's wet. Football(soccer) under the rain is fun.

the last time i bathe in the rain was when i'm in ifugao, province of the philippines more than 5 years ago.i was with my friends. we were swimming in that cold water pool, and at the same time, it was raining. we never change clothes on our way home (we we're wearing a t-shirt and shorts when were swimming). that's one moment in my life that i will never forget. i was blessed to travel that far with my friends, having fun, and singing and dancing in the rain with them. i love bathing in the rain, i feel somehow spiritually cleansed while i pray and cry, 'coz nobody will ever noticed that tears in my eyes, as i remembered all my hurts, pains and disappointments and the feeling of being with people who was with me then, when God is showing me His goodness, for that travel and for friends.

Good memories with the rain, that is something really worth cherishing. I remember being in a local beach resort in the rain and feeling so cold after bathing. It was also with friends and we did have a great time. I never tried crying and praying in the rain, but I know how it feels to be emotionally hurt and wet under the rain. My experience was not like yours though. I'm glad you made great memories with good friends.

Yeah I love just going out in a decent storm and just basking in the beauty and serenity of it. The rain always makes me feel quiet yet loving and appreciative, almost like being a child again. To just decide to go out in the rain and embrace it is one of the best feelings in life. Embracing nature and all of its beauty.
