Blizzard Warnings

Well here in WI we are under blizzard warnings. They've been predicting since the weekend we'd get high winds, more than one storm and totals up to 2ft of snow. I don't know how much we have now but looking out my front door a couple hours ago you could not see the roadway it was just a never ending sheet of snow. Looks hazy with winds gusting near 50+ mph and lots of drifting snow. I almost thing it was futile for DH & the neighbor to spend so much time outside snow blowing only for the wind to undo their work. It's bad enough that they started giving notice school would be closed today around lunch time on Tuesday. They have also sent out the national guard in some areas to look for stranded motorists in a county south of here it's that bad. Mind you the plows have not been out in nearly 12 hrs not that they could compete with the blowing and drifting snow that's giving us nearly white out conditions. So since I have no where to go and they are advising people to stay home... that's just what I'm going to do!

Well winter is finally over. It seemed like a long one this year! I love winter but only when I know my loved ones are safe and home enjoying it like I am. I'd be afraid to go out in the snow / ice driving, and hate when other people have to as well. This last winter was terrible for some people, cars buried in so many feet of it, it was crazy!

There were a lot of people that were really pounded this week. My best friend lives in the Arlington, TX area. They never really get snow down there. Well, the schools down there have been closed for the bulk of the week because the storm that they got are like nothing that they ever get. She is from the Lexington, KY area and we've always had some kind of snow in our lives so she is used to it and is quite upset about the treatment of the roads down there.

We didn't get hit as badly as everyone said we would. Schools did close, but I think maybe that was just a precaution. When I looked out the window it didn't seem that bad, though I haven't been out in it yet. I have to take my youngest to the doctor's later, so I'll see first hand if it's bad or not.

You are smart, stay home and stay warm. The weather channel says this storm will be all gone by Friday and then the Sun will shine. I hope they are right. If you take pictures maybe you can get some great ones of this storm. Blessings

I have been under lock and chain. We got almost 4 feet of snow between yesterday and today, and now the temperature dropped down to 25 below zero Fahrenheit. So no where for any of us anytime soon.

Yes, the wind was crazy here yesterday, but not nearly as bad as last year. Last year we really did have a full scale blizzard. It snowed so much and so fast, but the wind was crazy fast. Still, it is dangerous to go outside here. Not a lot of people were out and about. And if they were, they had four wheel drive. Still, even then some got stuck. I don't envy you those winds. That is way worse than here.

Here in Ohio we don't have all that snow and are projected to get only an inch or so today. But the ice! There's about an inch of ice on the ground and it was coating the trees last night. Luckily, we had a brief warming up to around 34 last night and it melted a lot of the ice off the trees. The roads are solid sheets of ice right now and although we're under a level 2 snow emergency-don't drive unless you absolutely have to-I'm surprised to see anyone on the roads at all. I'm ready for Spring!!!

In was flicking through the channels last night and showed several states that was having blizzard conditions...one of the states was WI, I think. Keep warm and be safe. Usually it's us here in Canada that have to worry about the snow.....but we have had a very mild winter so far.
