Should the USA and EU call directly for Mubarak to resign now?

After seeing Mubarak's thugs attack the peaceful demonstrators in Tahir square yesterday, how can anyone (including Obama and the EU) *not* demand Mubarak's immediate resignation?

I doubt it will do any good as that is undeniably foreign interference. Thus far, Egypt has been resistant to respond to other countries'/the US' calls for transition of power to be made immediately (same thing essentially, just worded differently). It'll just give the Egyptian government more credibility in accusing foreigners of intervention if such a demand is made.

Yes, you're probably right. It's upsetting and frustrating seeing peaceful protesters attacked like Wednesday though!

i really hate Mubarak though i'm not an egyptian.i think he is an autocrat.
