Malware on websites

Lately I have been seeing a lot of malware warnings on some of the websites that are on some of the ptc sites. I had a pretty bad experience while downloading the clixsense toolbar and my computer had to be totally cleaned to get rid to the virus. Has anyone had a similar experience? Some of them I reported and the admin for the site was very good at getting rid of the culprit. Some of them I just denied and didn't get caught but because the toolbar was neccessary for viewing the ads on clixsense I thought my virus protection would deal with it, never again! I tried going back to clixsense but without the toolbar I didn't get any ads and there is no way that I will be downloading that toolbar again.

I didn't have any trouble with clixsense but I have had with other sites. You have to be very careful at which sites you use. And keeping the virus protection up to date is a must. I had to wipe my computer clean two or three times last year because of viruses.

Wow! You must have been fuming. I know that I was the one time it happened to me. Do you have the clixsense toolbar? I would love to try the site as so many people seem to be doing it but I am so afraid now.

Did you down load it in explorer. That is what they requested that I use. I contacted their support and they were trying to encourage me to go ahead with it again but I am still a bit skeptical. Even if the malware was not on their toolbar I might release it again if I try to download it again.

Fuming is an understatement! lol!
I do have the clixsense toolbar and have not had any trouble with it at all.

I don't know that I would download any toolbars anyway. I don't trust them because you have no control over what is viewed. There were a couple of sites that wanted me to download toolbars and I didn't bother. I'm glad you were able to clean the virus. Good luck with your earning!

Thank you, I am very wary now and I will not download anything resembling a tool bar or even have a glimmering of looking like a toolbar!
