I have recently decided to get in shape. I have decided that I am sick and tired of being overweight. I am focused on losing 50 pounds. So far I have learned my metobolic type, and am eating the foods that work to help me loose weight. What are you doing to stick to a weight loss plan that is lasting, and life changing?

hi Fix,
I salute you for the determination you have now. Keep it up!
I was once a big girl before. I was overweight and did not mind my eating habits. However, I noticed that I was nearly on my 30's and I still don't have a steady boyfriend. Plus the fact that I easily get tired and sick.
Like you, I made up my mind to have a change over my diet and habits. I exercised everyday and watched my diet. I became healthier and slimmer. I think when my husband met me that time he was impressed with my body.
I would never forget the moment when I could wear anything that I want.

Thanks for the great words of encouragement! I like to hear when like minded people succeed. Changing the bad habits really was the key to turning my life around. I am happy that you found love, I am sure that you are beautiful! Your boyfriend should consider himself lucky to have you. Have a wonderful day.....

Wow crash dieting never worked for me either. I now know that the way to get fit, and stay that way is to make a shift in my way of eating, and the amount of exercise that I do. Small changes now lead to the larger changes later. Just look at yourself closely, and then decide what you will do to look your best. Best of luck to you. I wish you good health, and hapiness.

Wow! Good luck and more power.
As for me, I love munching and eating. To avoid having to much intake, I chew bubble gum and I eat green leafy vegetables or salads. I use carrot sticks to replace junk foods.
See you around.

The carrot stick idea is great, I do that! I also eat small amounts of dried fruit throughout the day. I feel like a 75% percent Vegan, but I can't comit to never eating just a little bit of meat from time to time. I feel great, and better days are ahead of me. Thank you for your response, and good luck in reaching your fitness goals.

I am already noticing better health. I will take it slow, and stay consistant. Exercise is now a part of my daily routine. Thank you for your response. Have a great day.....

Hey fixerupper, although you did not mention how heavy you currently are, in general, to lose 50 lbs suddenly may not be advisable. Lose them gradually and celebrate small victories in between. Celebrate by treating yourself to say a movie, but not with more food. It can also been dangerous to lose weight too fast. Always check with a doctor and ask for professional advice.
Most important is consistency. Change a eating habit with exercise that you can consistently do. Do not go for sudden change, like fasting for 10 days, etc. Your body will protest, and thus you might give up if your will is weak. Just do it...slowly...but surely....OK?
