I am a single Mom that has a son turning 16 in a few weeks. He is involved in many sports and just got hired for his first summer job. I am going to have to come up with an extra car as I work full time and will have a hard time carting him around. On the other hand I don't want him to think that life is that easy, that a car just majically appears. I want him to appreciate it and have to work for it. Been looking at some older BMW's they seem to run around 4,000 in my area....Anybody have any suggestions for a Cool car for him but moderately priced for a poor struggling working Mom?

well first off without even reading the actual discussion (just the title) and i must tell you that i honestly do not think a teenager needs a car at all...especially one solely for that teenager. i think that is only putting the teen in danger as well as giving them way too much freedom and giving them more ways to do wrong (as teenagers often do). now mind you, i am still a teenager myself so i remember all too well (because it is still happeneing) how mischievous teens can be especially when you leave them alone.
p.s. i still don't think he needs a car even after reading the whole discussion. wait until he is 18 and/or graduated from highschool when he is somewhat of an adult
