Just wondering if anyone on mylot has read anything about taoism and to give some ideas on what you think its all about. Who practices and flows with the tao in their life?

I did not know anything about Taoism until I start reading the book The Art of War by Sun Tzu. Now this book is mainly about strategy, strategy that is originally meant to be used in warfare. The book is a compilation of all the rules written by Sun Tzu in verse. Now this was originally written in Chinese. This book I am reading is a translation in English. The translator added a few lines of comments and notes with each of these verses. It is in these notes that I first learned about Taoism. Though this book is about war strategies, there is a spirituality and enlightenment in every single line of this book. I am already impressed by this book. It is originated from Taoism. If this derivative has such a force and potential I wonder what Taoism has to offer. I think every one of us should benefit from learning religion be it the religion of his own or of others. It doesn't really matter if it's Taoism, Buddhism, Hinduism or Christianity. If there is anything good in it, we should adopt it and then try to implement it in our own lifestyle.

Well said! Learning and growing is what were meant to do in life, so why negate knowledge from some different aspect unless for the purpose of limiting ourselves. I've heard of the Art of war and how it is a truly great book of wisdom. I really love chang tzu and lao tzu as well. They have some very interesting reads.

To close off knowledge of any sort is to limit your mind and self. I love to learn and grow as a person. Taoism isn't a religion, but rather a way in which to flow with our true inner self and with the universe. To allow good things to happen.
