Why can't some people accept the truth...

that they can't sing. The truth hurts, but you have to accept it. People have the right to dream, but there are just those that are unreachable. I really feel ashamed for those who try out in American Idol thinking they are all that, but don't have a good vice at all- some of them even force the judges and keep on singing. I hope people would face the truth..

I really think that part of the appeal of American Idol is all of the people who are unable to sing and that has to be a huge chunk of the audience. Not everyone mind you, but there is most certainly a lot of time where there is a lot of interest in trainwreck television. However I can't sing and admit that I can't really do it, but I still do from time to time. There is really nothing worse than a bad performer who thinks that they are really, really good. There are people who know how bad they are and embrace that which is fine, really, but there are some people who are really delusional.

Well, it is not the end of the world- if you can't sing you can find other hobbies like dancing or swimming. I hope the judges saying no becomes the wake u call for those who think that they are good singers even though they're definitely not.

After that Chinese guy who sang she bangs, i think some people gained interest in trying out such auditions just to gain popularity and be signed even if they couldn't sing at all. If others indeed audition coz they think they are good enough but in reality, not quite, well pity them. Jusges' say will be a wake up call for them.

Was it William Hung or something- yeah, maybe they got more encouraged that they'd be famous too. It's just sad that they even quarrel with the judges sometimes, when we all know that they are correct.

You're very right. I'm the one who feels embarrass whenever I see one hopeful without having what it takes to be in that contest. I think it roots down to family and friends. They are being given false praises.

Yes, sometimes I am the one feels embarrassed for them too. I really think the parents and people around them should tell them the truth so they won't get their hopes up and be depressed when the judges reject them...

Yes, people are really funny sometimes. There are some who will not accept the truth, maybe they believe in the sayings that "if others can do why can't they" but we have our own limitations and if you have tried all that is possible and still no progress then you must learn to accept it.

Yes, has their limitations and each people has different talent and abilities, maybe singing just isn't one of them. I really hope that they would find their other talents and focus on them more.

Many of those people hear a beautiful voice when they hear their own voice, Sounds weird but many bad singers really think they were good singers, while other people can actually sing but in the actual audition they sound terrible because their nerves are getting them so yeah good voice is not enough.

Yes, I have seen some good singers sing really badly because of their nerves, it was in Hollywood week. It is quite hard to sing when those famous people are judging you and all the pressure and the crowd. They should practice calming their nerves.

Everyone has the right to dream, but not everyone can sing. The sad thing is they can't see or accept that they can sing because their friends and family say that they are good singers.

Hi there lady! I have observed such audacious behavior of some auditionees of American Idol. It is irritating and that is part of the fun in the show. Well, people have different thinking and characters. Some have no shame at all and others have the voice and talent, but are shy to audition.

Yes, it also makes the show more fun- but some people are just scary... But I do like those who get rejected but still stay optimistic and take it well.

I get what you mean there. And when there are a series of bad auditions or those gone wrong like they scolding and hurling vulgarity at the IDOL camera, it gives me the biggest wonder like were they expecting the judges to give them the golden ticket. There's a fine line between surreal , reality and for entertainment purposes. Those who were rejected and took it in their stride , big applaud for them. I think false praises might be the best bet for why some contestants think they can really , really sing where in actual fact they aren't. Some even don animal costumes and it's just hilarious. Makes me think some purposely did that to see themselves on TV. By the way , love the judges this time round.

Yes, I really admire those who can accept the truth well, the judges are most of the times correct- they are singers too, so they know who can sing and who really can't. I love the judges too- they're funny and nicer, but still let the right people in. Thanks for your response.

Oh, so true. But maybe it's not their fault. Probably their friends or family gave them false hopes.

Yea, I am quite sure that some of them were encouraged by their friends and relative that's why some of them are so confident about their voice. I think the people around them should just be honest.

On a normal TV show, these bad singers would have been weeded out long before getting near to a live camera. It just shows how fake this show really is. It is obviously not representative of American talent. The same applies to ugly girls that get onto America's next top model. You can't believe anything you see on TV!

Yes, I do agree that you cannot believe anything you see on tv, maybe just a teeny tiny bit of it. I don't get why American IDol is fake though, what do you mean exactly?

Well, we cannot blame people if some of them are like that..there many reasons why they are acting that way, we just don't know it...maybe they want to prove something for themselves or to some relatives or friends or some just to be popular...

Yes, maybe some people are encouraging them to audition..or some people around them are just not honest enough to tell them about their voice.
