Hi there! Congratulations! I say, just be as patient as you can be. Motherhood isnt just about being happy because you have a cute and cuddly child etc, but motherhood is entitled to bigger responsibilities. Patience is key and of course unconditional love. :)

You could write a birth plan for the day your baby will be born. I suggest you make a list of things you will need for your baby and get as many of these as possible. When your dear little baby is born you will be able to bond with him or her. You will respond lovingly when your baby cries. He or she might wish to drink, have a diaper change or just a cuddle. I suggest you take lots of photos because in his or her first year he or she will change a lot in appearance. I buy age 0 to 3 months clothing but some moms like to purchase newborn clothes. Soon a baby grows into the 3 to 6 months age range of clothes.

slsewart, having raised two daughters, let me tell you "motherhood" is FOREVER!! I believe each and every child comes with their very own manual. Once you are bonded and intuned with your own child's "manual" ... hey, just try with all your might to be there for your child, never send another to resolve any big or little problem, get there by railway, airplane, puppy dog sled ... just get there. Your very "odor" will be the first your child will adore ... that, in and of itself might say it all!;) Happy, happy baby to you!

Don't worry, motherhood is a learn as you go process. The first days with your baby are amazing so enjoy it as much as you can. Try to take advantage of any support you can get and don't worry if everything doesn't go exactly by the book. Good luck with everything. You are going to be a great mom :)
