im working as a field researcher in a market research agency. we had a project about toothpaste and they deployed us in the city to gather information. one time, i interviewed a female muslim and ask her to test a product for our study. we guarrantee them that its safe, we just need their opinions about this toothpaste and compare it to what theyre using now. after a week, i came back to ask her questions and she said, "i dont want to use your toothpaste, maybe it has PORK in it!" and i was like how come a meat can be an ingredient to toothpaste? she said theres a particular toothpaste which is out in the market that has pork and we all know that our muslim brothers dont eat pork. ive asked my superiors but they dont know about it. only the muslim knows. its bothering me.

Toothpaste may contain gelatin and gelatin is often made from unspecified meat products (which may include beef, pork, lamb, chicken or any other meat). There are many ingredients in toothpaste and if someone MUST avoid anything from a particular source, then that is their prerogative and you must tell them the truth (as far as you can determine it) and respect their opinions and reserves.
