No; not at all. I wouldn't know the first thing about repairing a computer; I'm technically nil! Luckily, I have a good computer that hasn't broken down in years. But for many years, I worked my way through one computer after the other, inheriting them from friends, friends of family, family, each one broke down; and there was nothing I could do except send them to professional repairers. Often, they came back repaired, but ultimately, each one broke down beyond recovery. I love this PC I have, because it pretty well never goes wrong. If it does, I'd be lost...not just without it...but in terms of how to go about repairing it!

I repare and build them from scratch. I taught myself.

I think there is nothing wrong with repairing your pc by yourself.I also repair my pc whenever something goes wrong especially when it is infected with virus and cannot be repaired by an antivirus anymore.I am quite knowledgeable with things regarding the repairs that is needed to be dine with a computer that sometimes I do the repairs by myself. If I cannot fix my pc anymore even if I do everything that I could, then thats the time that I am seeking the help of a technician.But if ever I can fix the problem with myself I will do it to cut the cost and expense in the repairs that will be done if a technician will be doing the the repairs in my pc.

yes, i do all the maintenance of my computer from reformatting to removing of viruses and updating software patches.

Yes, I do sometimes! But when it comes to hard disk, power supply, viruses that's a big NO! But I guess I'll know how to repair those parts anytime soon because that would be my major in college soon.

yes i can repair my own computer and i repair it myself never wait for the engineer because i am Hardware engineer and also Software engineer. so i can understand both part of computer hardware and software. i am also repair my all neighbors computer free of cost.

Yes i have always managed to repair it myself so far but then iv never had a really major issue.

I can solve software problems and little bit here and there but I haven't yet learned "how to format a pc ?". In future I will surely do it on my own. If I have some problems after running a kind of a software I fix it with system restore option.

No i never repair it myself.If i my pc is slow then i ask my friends help most of them are software engineers and programmers.If they are busy and couldn't come to my place they just ask me switch on teamviewer and tell them the id and password so they can check the problem from their office only.

I'm not great at the technical difficulties that a computer can suffer. I am better off to take it to someone who knows what to do. If i had to repair my own computer, i may never be online again.

Hi dpmathur: I don't do this but I ask my brother that is not an engineer but he knows a lot about computers so everytime I have a big issue he do the format and take a look to my computer. When there's a little problem I search on the web how to repair it and if it's not too complicated I try to do it by myself. ALVARO

I never called an Engineer for any sort of software repair to my PC... But if there is a hardware problem, then I cant always handle it and had to call the engineer some times when its out of my knowledge... But with software problems, I feel even the people who come from a computer retailer are not well-acquainted with all the problems... If the engineer is from the company itself, then he might do good but he costs a lot.... And I know a fair bit about formatting and other things I need to do if a software problem occurs... So, I always do myself... If some trojan or a worm persists even after several trials of repairing it... then I will format the system completely, which takes about half an hour... And my computer is back into form....

I'm a computer Engineering student. I have all the genuine software's so whenever i need, i use to repair my System myself. Even I'm able to repair some minor hardware problems also...

Well,it's not that hard so I do it myself.I have an external hard drive in case of disaster.I've had to reformat my hard drive and so it came in handy.I run the usual detection software often and use CCleaner at least once a day.Rebooting fixes a lot of problems.However,once I spilled a drink on the keyboard and I took it into a computer repair place but it was beyond help.

well yeah. . in the software prospective...i do it myself..have enough self confidence.. and can solve those small things.. at ease. .its nice nice.. .and gettin the work done by urself gives such a joy beyond anything :)

if the problem is about the software or the system i can repair it myself, but when i am dealing with hardware problem i will give up and let the professional fix it because i am not really understand in fixing a broken hardware and sometimes i just replace it with the new one.

Hell no, I don't repair my own computer. I got a trojan on it recently and had one of my friends a computer science major reformat it for me. I don't have an external hard drive so I would have to borrow somebody's to help me out while I fix it. I had my ex-boyfriend reformat my computer while we were in a relationship. I go to a school full of tech savvy people so I don't have to go far to find someone who can help me with my computer. I'm going to miss this when I graduate.

Hi, Yes, I do all repairs, upgrades, and virus scanning myself. I also build systems and troubleshoot my own problems as well.
