It is said.."What cannot be cured must be endured".I think it is very true. Many times we feel that we may not be able to solve our probems for ever.Similarly some ailments cannot be cured at all. When we have to face such situations the best way appears to be to develop tolerance and reconcile to our fate. Many times we canot blame others for our miseries nor can we blame ourselves. It is our fate on which we have no control. So what cannot be cured must necessarily be endured. Is it not..?

That is a very negative attitude and a defeatist attitude. Who says it can't be cured. How do they know. I prefer "if at first you don't succeed, try and try again" or "never give up" or "tomorrow will be a better day." If we think negative, we will get negative results. If we think positive we will get positive results. We reap what we sow. There is no such think as fate, it is a myth to keep us down and to accept our circumstances. We can do so much more. Never accept a situation and stop trying!

There are certain things in life which can never be cured.Take the case of born blind or born with permanent disabilities what can they find if they are poor.May be rich people can try and try and wait for better tomorrow.Even for them chances of success are remote. So if the art or quality of endureance is developed thay may not feel more miserable.Accepting life is always good. All the poor people want to be rich only and they don't want to be poor through out their life time. Some may try and become rich but not all.How do you advise people I have narrated above. So there is no other alternative than endurance...

What I'm saying is that we need to live in hope and not in resignation or acceptance of a situation no matter how final it may seem. We don't know what tomorrow may bring. It may bring a new discovery, a new technique or a new understanding so that what seemed impossible may now be possible. I think thinking with hope is much better than accepting a situation as final. The results may be the same but a more positive attitude might do wonders for the spirit. Some blind people have had operations or transplants and they have been able to see. Then there was the miracle maker: Mark 8:22-25 (New International Version, ©2010) 22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” 24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” 25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. We should keep hope alive!

I think this would pertain more to ailments. There are a couple that i can say. I would say diabetes, lupus, hepatitis B. There are still a lot more. However, i was told that there are times that these things do get well, though of course in very remote cases. It cannot be healed, but at least it can be maintained, and the damaging effects can actually be arrested. There is however another thing that i can mention, though of course it will be more of sarcasm. I always say that at times cancer can still be cured, as there are medicines for it. However, if it is voluntary ignorance or arrogance, then there is no medicine, and cannot be cured, and would have to be endured.

Here we are concerned with endurance only. When there is no cure for problems and ailments what can we do except endure or otherwise feel more miserable and make people around us also miserable. We have to develope the art of accepting things as they presnet themselves in life when we fail find solutions. This is life. The animals d not bother about anything unlike human beings. Therefore the question of endurance does not arise in the case of animals...

Interesting. I think this is a good topic and it seems to be related also to pain and pain management and even pain philosophy, if you will. At first we feel the lucky person is one who feels no pain. Later we observe that just enough pain is needed in the profound balance needed in human existence, would you agree ? Also there seems to be a lot of "not commonly seen" benefits of pain. For instance, the first time we tried to walk was painful, though personally I do not remember, I only assume it so. The first time we granted forgiveness to someone who did us something seriously wrong was painful. Later we realize, it was for a good reason that we learn to contain the pain ... eventually there is no longer pain. Perhaps in the process of containing pain, there are those who come into full consciousness needed to realize the profound truths ... What do you think?

what you are talking about is pain only. What you say is OK. What I mean to say is not merely pain management but every thing in life.In other aspects of life like social and financial aspects what counts more is contentment. For instance when you are.. not able to make much money like your friends the best way is to to be content with what you get instead of trying to make more money by unfair means and get into trouble.Similarly bad children and bad partner in life which we cannot change easily it is better to endure than to fight and become miserable. What I am saying is not fool proof

Yes, this is quite true. There are times when we have to accept defeat even if we tried our hardest best. We just have to learn from it, find out what we did wrong, and try not to repeat those things again. It may hurt you but we just have to endure it and move on.

You have correctly understood the spirit of this discussion. We may have to face many defeats and failures in life.If you go on brooding over the same you cannot go forward. It is mental condition to endure but your trials can go on.Endurance is a noble quality and we should cultivate it and also teach our children.By endurance we can also learn many things.May God bless you...

All said and done, we are the ones who are suffering and there are some things which can never be changed, including health issues. I have some of them. My health issues have no cure. The only option is to exercise everyday and keep myself active and hope the pain does not get worse. If I do exercise, my pain lessens and I have to do it twice a day apart from not sitting for long hours, not doing much physical work and not getting stressed and straining myself. Well, it is pretty difficult to be without doing any physical work since I stay at home and have a small kid. Life is not fair for most of us, but hey, life has to go on! Enduring and accepting will definitely help us move forward and lessen our pain.

As you rightly say many things in life cannot be cured inspite of our best efforts. What to do then?.Should we become more miserable brooding over the same. Therefore get prepared mentally and accept the fact so that you can move forward instead making people around also feel miserable..May God bless you...

chayapathys(706) I literally accept this problem but not fully. Because its in our hand. If we felt bad, the things also going bad. So we take anything in a positive manner. Then only we apt in all situation. Nothing is endured. But if it happens by heredity we suffer little. Otherwise if it happens depending upon our habits we can cure. How? We analyses the ailments why it occurred?. Then make a necessary treatment, for example change our food habits, doing proper exercise, behavior habitats etc.,I think i am saying good for everybody. Don't blame our fate. Its all in our hand. are you accept this?

So you partially agree with me.What part you accept and what part you do not accept. No doubt trials are in our hands and we cannot be sure of results in many cases. What I am saying is not negative attitude as many presume. It is not negative. What I say is positive only in the sense that when you realise that certain things cannot be cured is it worth worrying about it any longer. So endure and take things easily and proceed in life instead of getting stuck which leads to more miseries....
