Hello fellow mylotters :) So I know that dying my hair is really not healthy for me but I have red in my hair anyways. Like ruby red. And I got it professionally dyed the first time but now woukld like to redo it at home with something a little bit betteer for me. I know I shouldnt have the following chemicals in whatever dye i use for the best results of my health: phenylenediamine, aminophenol, ethanolamine, hydroquinone and 2,4-diaminophenoxyethanol. Any help?!? :s

from what I heard, Henna hair dye are natural because they came from plant based materials instead of chemicals. I think you can find some safer hair dye from organic cosmetic stores, Hair dye does harm hair but if you know how to maintain hair, you can fix the damage by some high nutrition conditioners. Just look for some good hair care products meant for dyed hair.

Yes, CaptAlbertWhisker, you said it right - henna. I tried it on my hair and for almost two weeks now, the grays doesn't show yet. Besides, my hair is still soft even when i have dyed it with henna, unlike the other hair dye that i used to use. I tried the Henna made from India, with a picture of an Indian woman National on the face of the wrap.

Yeah, I've heard of henna being good. But I've heard you shouldn't use it on your hair if you have previously dyed it conventionally, that it my not work properly. And that it sometimes dosnt come out the desired color. Anyone have this issue in the past??
