i have fibromyalgia which offers poor and unrestful sleep. i have had more sleepless nights than i can remember because of pain. if i have a night where i cant sleep, i often get up and read or just lay there and rest. i also take melatonin to help me sleep.

Hi monicapaula, and welcome to myLot.
I try to have the same routine every evening: I go jogging, then have dinner, take a bath and read a few pages - every day at the same hour, that helps me get on schedule and go to sleep (I had to recover after working the night shift for several years of my life).
If I also manage to wake up in the morning at the same hour, that's usually enough to set the routine. Sometimes it gets messed up by various events, like all-night parties, and then I have some sleepless nights before I can get back on track.

Well I do have problems sometimes going to sleep. While that happens, I just try to remember everything I did that day from morning to the time I got to bed, step by step. Before I know it, I fall asleep. You should try doing that, I hope it helps you too.
And people say that drinking warm glass of milk helps you sleep well. But I don't really know.
