I was sleeping soundly last night and then I started thinking. I came up with several good topics for discussions and decided to get on the computer. Once I got on, I couldn't remember those topics very well. I find that very frustrating. I know that during sleep the mind is clearer so ideas come through easier, but I don't know why I can't remember things when I wake up. aaarrrggghhh!!!

Try to take things easy daeckardt. This is not the end of everything. Life is good. Keep striding one step at a time.

Of course you are right. I tend to take things too seriously sometimes. I try to take things one step at a time and it doesn't always work that way. Thanks for the comment!

magneto2011,
Thanks for your concern. I am doing much better today because I finally got some information. I will start a discussion about that. Things should start getting better soon I hope! Have a great day!

You're welcome daeckardt. Yeah, there exists no solitary formula which could answer all our life's activities. Sometimes we need to take things seriously and on occasions we need to take them one step at a time to work effectively. It actually depends on what is needed on the spur of the moment. And to know what is needed on the spur of the moment requires long period of time to reflect.
My primary concern is the level of frustration you're in; it might not do you good. Take care.

Don't feel bad trust me that happens to me all the time. Your best discussion topics are always thought of when you don't have a computer around and then finally when you get online, you completely forget what you wanted to talk about. Why do you think I don't come up with topics very much, first because I don't have to much time in my hands with my busy schedule and secondly because when I think of stuff I can't get around to a computer to write it.
That is very frustrating, I share you pain...

fabsprecious,
Thanks for the response. I only recently started coming up with topics again and that was because of a lack of time. I should probably be working on homework right now instead of doing this, but this is much more fun! I guess I will settle for coming up with topics when I am online and think of something so that I don't frustrate myself.

This site is addicting, more so than facebook was when I was into the games on there. Now if they paid you for playing on facebook, I might start spending more time in there again. I guess the main reason this is productive is because you get paid for doing this. Have a great day!

I know exactly what you mean, you kind of get addicted to this site and want to continue discussing and posting new things and the more you do it the more you don't want to stop. My hubby tells me that I have gotten a bit addicted when it comes to this site, my response is basically this, you spend alot of time in Facebook, what's the difference, at least I am trying to do something productive. He just laughs, but it's the truth, wouldn't you agree?

Seeing that you say you cannot write down the ideas, maybe you could get a small voice activated mini recorder. They sell them for making shopping lists and personal reminders. I think that would be even better than writing it down. If I were to write something down in the middle of the night it would likely be undecipherable the next morning.

I think I actually had one at one point in time, but I lost it before I moved to China last fall. I don't know when I will have transportation to be able to go check it out either. Maybe I will look when I go to the doctor on Monday. Have a great day!

A voice activated mini recorder would be nice. Too bad it takes money. I will look into it next time I get somewhere I can get one though. Thanks for the suggestion!

Maybe you should have a notebook beside you so whenever you have something, just write it down. It's always clearer because the mind is more relaxed. Mine happens whenever before I really get into sleep. I would lie down on the bed & many thoughts would run through & I try to write them down

I know what you mean. I need to get a notebook and pen so that I can write things down. That includes the appointments I have to keep. I know I have one on Monday, but there is another one I have next week that I don't remember when it is. I need to call them up and find out because I haven't written anything down recently and although I haven't started chemo yet, I already have "chemo brain" as some of my ovca sisters have called it. Thanks for your response.

It is common also to me but not sleeping instead during my travelling from office to my home lots of ideas possible I can start here for discussion but all of a sudden forget.. So now what I'm doing is at least the title I can write in a peace of paper so that I can remember what some details or ideas possibly thinked before... so you do what I'm doing always have a ballpen and paper to write something related to your ideas... see you around

Thanks for the response. I like the idea of writing down ideas, but unfortunately I don't even have a pen. I remember one time a friend wanted me to write something down about what I thought about a topic and every time I tried to write anything, I would draw a blank. He said that is sometimes the way it goes for people with certain disabilities. I will give it a try once I do get a writing utensil.

Maybe I should try eating more peanuts. Does peanut butter do the same? Most of the time when making discussions, I am already in mylot, but sometimes I think of something when I am not in here and then I am in trouble. Talk to you later.

That happens a lot to me and I get excited because they are such cool ones, that I can't wait to do them and then when I get the chance to do them I forget and can't come up with some as good as those ones. Good topic daeckardt!

Is that a "senior moment" thing I wonder? I sometimes think that it is just the fact that I'm getting old that I can't remember what I was going to write when I actually get around to doing it. Thanks for the response!

I don't know if it is or not because I'm only 38 but I do have bad memory problems period so I don't know. I had a heat stroke before and my memory isn't that good anymore. I'm just thankful that I didn't get paralyzed or something like that. I was pretty fortunate. That's the only symptom I've noticed after-wards. I can forget something I did a second later sometimes.

margeryann,
You are so young! I hope you have a good long life ahead of you. You need to be wary of heat stroke. That could have killed you if you hadn't got it under control quickly! I hope that things go well for you! Have a great day!

Haha this sounds familiar... This has happened to me several times. Im sure as a bull that i thought of topics to post even in mrt onmy way to the office. So what i do is to put them in my phone as drafts and go back to it when i log to mylot... Sure helps a lot when i do that...

It sure is nice to have a phone to put them into. Unfortunately, right now I don't have a cell phone or even a pad and paper. I have my laptop, but when it comes to recording things in it, I still have difficulty. Thanks for the response.

I meet the same thing sometimes as you. I think it is a little like dreams. You know, some dreams we can remember clear after waking up,some dreams we forget once we wake up.Yes,it is frustrating can't remember good topics we got while sleeping. So i think it is better once you got good ideas, then try to get up immediately and write a few outlines for your topics. Then it will be much easier to remember them when you turn on your computer and begin to write. This way,you can even wait for the next morning to post.

aprilsong,
What I found most frustrating was that I turned on the light and the computer within minutes of thinking of the things and I still couldn't remember them. I didn't have a pen and paper available so I couldn't write them down. Thanks for the response!

I am totally like that too! LOL. Whenever I'm on MyLot, it's like I never have any good discussion ideas. HOWEVER - when I'm at work, out shopping, out to eat, or doing pretty much anything where I can't stop to write down these ideas - I come up with some good ideas! (And of course forget them later). Well, what can you do I guess?

Thanks for the response. It is good to know that I am not alone. I just wish I had a photographic memory so that I could remember everything. I guess that I should just go with the flow and take things as they come.

This is because when one sleeps, his subconscious is on, this is responsible for having dreams. The one wakes up, this time, it's the conscious mind that is on, the subconscious, off. Many those in subconscious does not manifest in the conscious mind that why some dreams are not remember at all but if ever remembered, only a fragments of it. Our brain is multicomplex that so many task can be done , one at a time or at the same time, in it's awesome capacities!

You are right there. I know it has a lot to do with the fact that when falling asleep that the conscious mind is shutting down. I have always been able to remember things better when falling asleep that I could never think of during the day. The brain is an incredible piece of machinery. Thanks for the response!

Just chill out daekardt. It happens to all of us. I'm sure that one of this days (or night) you will remember them again. For the meantime, just responds to some of the topics here in my lot and add up to your earnings.

atprudente6,
Thanks for the response. I have started using an interest area that I created several years ago when I first joined mylot. I have included several discussions so far that hopefully will get a lot of responses both from English Language Learners and those who would be willing to help me to help them improve their English. I have been getting quite a bit this month (at least .40/day) so I am happy with that! I think coming up with simple topics for my "English lessons" will help me not feel as stressed about creating topics that would appeal to everyone. Have a great day!

Haha! Did you dream of the topics? I rarely remember dreams unless they are scary ones. =P As for the rest, I forget them shortly after I wake up. It is only that time when I'm still half asleep that I remember my dreams. When I become fully awake, *poof* they're gone.
I would suggest keeping pen and paper on a bedside table, then write your ideas down quickly before you forget. Also have a pen and small notebook you can keep in your pocket while going about your day. The phone is also a good idea, or a voice recorder if you have one.
Have a nice day! =)

I know what you mean about forgetting dreams when fully awake. I still remember some of the crazy things I dreamed about when I was little like the house bleeding and being bit by something and turning into the same thing so that you bite others. I guess it was sort of like being a vampire, but I don't think I knew about such things when I was 5. Keeping a pen is a good idea. I guess I I could get one and try to keep it and some paper close at hand. That would also be important when the doctor's office calls to make an appointment. I have to call one of them back Monday and find out when my appointment is because I can't remember except that it was next week. Oh well...
