money is an evil?

Money isn't evil. You are probably referring to that bible verse that is always mis-quoted..."money is the root of all evil". The verse says "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil". Money is an inadament object. It "does" nothing until it is picked up and used....or mis-used. How evil is it to earn money and pay rent? Crime isn't made from money. Yeah, criminals steal money from merchants, but that doesn't make the money evil...it makes the person evil. Try living without money. Then you'll know how "evil" it is.

Hi what i would say that money is not evil, since it is just a piece of paper, but it certainly is root cause of all evils. They say money cannot buy everything in this world. But I say there is nothing that money can't buy.

money is a necessary evil on these days. bad people can use it to make bad things but also, good people can help the world with money. conclusion: the evil é not the money ,is the way that you use it..and with sure,isnt good either know that we depend to do almost everything just with money..

Money is not evil. It's the source that makes people evil because of greed. It makes people crave for more until they are ready to even kill a man just to have money.

People are evil by ourselves, without the help of money. They are so evil that in fact they would blame money for their greed, necessity for their corruption and others for their faults. We are so evil, that we call other evil and unite against them. As you say, money is just a thing, a medium of exchange. If people weren't evil by themselves, their creations (including money) wouldn't be evil. But on the bright side, if we are all evil, doesn't that make us all good? :p

It isn't money that causes evil it is greed that is evil. It is ok to want something as long as you be willing to get enough money to buy it without scamming someone and without upsetting someone. Without money then you can either steal, hope someone gives away their possessions to you, or barter.

I don't agree with you... I think it is not money that make people evil.. it is the greed in people that make them evil... they want more and more things,,, things for their pleasures and things for leisure... they what it in an easy way without any hard work...

Money being evil is one of those grand misconceptions in life I think. Just paper and coins, that are not really having done anything to anyone in their life. Yet it is the pursuit towards acquiring the money that can be the evil thing. I mean, it is obvious that people have done many rotten and underhanded things in their day, all for a few extra dollars(or slightly more). I think that money is not evil. Rather in the end, the pursuit of money is what is evil or rather how people obtain it in their pursuit. It can cause many people to lose sight at what is important. Really it is a harsh thing to deal with and it leads many people down a destructive dangerous path. Not the actual money, but how they obtain it.

I agree with the other comments that money is not evil but rather the LOVE of money is root of evil. Love of money makes a person greedy, wanting more and more and do not care what or how to get money for as long as he gets it.

I think that money is not evil. But users who make money as evil or not. Basically, people need money and can not live without money, but that does not mean that it can be used as an excuse to get money by not true (evil's method). There are many ways to earn money in a good way. Human with a sense to choose: make money by using the brain, using a muscle, or use both to get the money.

According to me I think it depends of the person's character. The money aren't evil themselves. The people who use them are evil. The money can be used for a charity for example. Is the charity evil or bad-no, of course!

It makes people greedy. They will turn on their friends and families sometimes because they want all this money to themselves. Its bizarre. For instance I know some families who have won mega millions and even though they give their family more than enough to live they tend to think they are entitled to more and then turn against them thinking that what they are doing is wrong. Or if people start making really good money all they can think about is making more and more and more and they will undercut anyone to make it. Sometimes companies will start making there products with cheaper ingredients even though its toxic for the consumer but they dont care because its all about making as much money as possible while making it with the cheapest material. Its sad really that most people are driven by greed for money rather than a true passion...

actually, money is not the root of all evil nor money is an evil thing as what you think by this time. 80% of people's lives are all about money. we cannot move without money. you work, because you need to support your family and yourself, and it will only be supplied by money. the rest 20% includes emotional, spiritual, and other things that enable every person to move in this world. without money, no transactions will be made and the world will never be in progress. i was also once confused by this issue because of the evil acts the world has been doing, and they dominated the world by influencing them through their money. but recently, i was enlightened with this truth that the money is the root of all evil, but rather, the love of money. being greed and addicted to possess too much money urge and motivate one person to do evil acts. he tends to do all things, without considering whether it is good or bad just to feed his desire of gaining too much money. they think that by having lots of money, they can gain popularity and power but they never know that they're just making themselves to be slave of it. money was created in order to maintain balance of trading things and to supply the needs of mankind. it was said to be neutral, like a scale. if it was used for helping those who are in need, feeding the poor, donating in charities, then money is such a good thing. it only become evil when it was used for selfish acts and when it was loved so much by a certain person.

In my opinion, it isn't money that makes them evil. It's when greed sets in. Money should be viewed as a necessity. It's compensation for something you did. Although this doesn't mean that the concept of paying people for work done is without flaws, but our present society is set that way. You use money to pay for the things you need to survive. But when people begin to want more, then evil sets in. And then money can now be considered as the root of evil.

It's the attitude about money that is evil. The attitude makes it bad. People would dare to do things, just about anything just to have big money. But money is not evil itself. It is a provision in life to make it going. We are in a material world, so money is important but since people want to be more powerful than the others, they make money a thing to covet and a means of power. If only people would see money as only a tool of getting on fair provisions, then money would not be evil at all!
