Can you really forget Chris Brown's altercation with Rihanna?

I just saw the new video of Chris Brown and I have to admit that the guy is really talented and his song are really catchy but I can't seem to shake the fact off my head that he had beaten up Rihanna. It really makes me wonder if he can salvage his image because even if he is still talented, I would still prefer listening to him before the whole physical abuse controversy happened. How about you? What do think? Is image really necessary to music artists or should it be all about how good the music is?

I must admit whenever I hear his music it is difficult to not think about what he did even though I like his music. Fingers crossed it was just a one off thing and that he has learnt his lesson.

I feel the same way when I hear his music even if his music is really good. I do hope he did learn his lesson because he is still young and there are a lot of things going for him and I also hope all the things that he is doing now is because he is really sorry and not because he want to regain his image and music career.

If I wouldn't give them real money in real life then I won't buy their music or product. even if I like it. it's like that awful Cheryl Cole woman. . everyone at the moment acts like she's so lovely, and some kind of national treasure, and forget about the fact that she attacked someone in a nightclub toilet

Music and Image really goes hand in hand. I guess there are fans who cant really forget a wrongdoing an artist did. So far though, If there is one artist who kind of regained her image, it is definitely Britney Spears. lol. But still though like what you said about Cheryl Cole, I wouldn't give money to Britney or Chris Brown in real life so I doubt that I would buy their album. lol.

If you are really into music, people's past shouldn't even be an issue because you are just listening. Many artists have horrible pasts, and they move on, they don't just forget but they actually move on because the world will not wait for you. Image for the artists is something they use to get more audience as music is not free, it runs on money, they need people to buy their music so image is totally something important to them. Most people have issues, would you always want to talk about it if you were Chris Brown? I think not or do you?

If I were Chris Brown, of course I would want my fans to focus more on the music I make. Despite this though, it is still difficult. I don't know if it is because we need time to really forget about it or if it is because no one can really forget it.

Hi. lealuby2j No. I can't forget what he has done to Rihanna. Even if I tried to, I could not. I look at him differently now. I still do love and admire him, that will never change. I just think that what he did is unjustifiable, no matter how popular or famous he is. As far as judging him, I will leave this in God's hands.

Music artists, like actors or actresses, have become role models for their fans. So yes, their image is something these artists should always protect.

I guess you are right but I think the reason why he is having a hard time redeeming his image is because we all thought he was so innocent and wholesome before what happened between him and Rihanna. A lot of musicians have bad images but they still have a lot of fans. The difference between them and Chris Brown is that they were already known to cause trouble since the start of their fame unlike Chris Brown who had a really good image.

I think an artist's music and an artist's image should remain separate. What Chris Brown did is said and done. He can't change it. The only way he can move forward is forgetting about it and looking to the future. And that's exactly what he's doing, which I applaud him for. I mean, look at Kanye West. The guy is a total jackass to the public and media, but nobody can deny he's a musical genius.

Haha. I agree with what you said about Kanye. Anyway, The difference between Kanye and him is Kanye was known to be arrogant ever since he started in the music business unlike Chris Brown who we thought was so adorable and innocent. I still think that there is still hope for Chris Brown, he should just keep on making good music and try to lie low and not cause any more trouble.

no, i cant forget it. but these days i don't think about the altercation much because i don't like rihanna anymore anyway because i keep seeing everywhere that she is a devil worshipper and the symbolism of devil worship is present in her videos as well as lyrics and even her style of clothing...so it's like "whatever". i am starting to see the type of person she is in general (even if the devil worship thing isn't true) and i still don't like her. to me she is just a ho (i'm just being honest). i dont listen to her music anymore at all, but i do still listen to chris brown i must admit, but to be honest i dont like his personality either. he is just slightly more appealing than rihanna
