I was wondering if alot of people give their dogs dog food commercially available, table scrap foods, or especially prepared food customed for their dogs.
For our dogs we feed them with rice porridge plus meat sawdust then we add boiled bananas and we add some apple cider vinegar. As for our dog that we adopted which is malnourished we give her the above mentioned plus an added hi protein dog food and a lecithin supplement.

Hello joshvlim,
Dogs had been fed with this kind of food for decades before the kibbles were invented. And they lived happy and healthy for many years.
I used to feed my previous dog with the same rice, meat and fruits/vegetables recipe, as she was a picky eater. She didn't want to eat kibbles at all.
The dog I have now, Binne, is a big eater and she would eat everything (even what it is not edible ). I have fed her with dog food because, being such a big eater, I'm afraid she's becoming obese. With home made food it is more difficult to determine the right amount of food to be fed, but with dog food you have the possibility to keep dogs' weight under control easier.
If I ever change her food, a raw food diet is what I will give to her.

This week i changed my dogs dry food from kibbles n bits to the racheal ray dog food. The kibbles n Bits he was going through and only eating certain pieces and now with the rachel ray he seems to be eating it all and eating more then he used to so im glad he is eating more and i think he will start to be more active after getting used to this.
Around 5 at night when i get home from work i feed him half a can of wet food and usually pedigree or might dog he seems to like. When we are done with dinner he gets some scrapped leftovers if it is something he is allowed to eat.
You must think my dog is big but only weighs around 12 pounds and he likes cookie snacks and his food.

Have you tried Acana Pacifica (Grain Free Dog Food) and Canidae all life stages, theses are probably my favorite holistic dog food brands and not to mention that they are effective against dogs that are very picky eaters in our case and its fed less compared to other brands I mean they say its because of the meat quality of the food is quite high, but its quite expensive here in the Philippines since we consider it a premium brand of dog food, give it a shot Im sure they love the taste also.

Hi
I think you shud take the advice of a vet before feeding any food to dogs, because the digestive constitution of a dog is different from ours, so what we eat may not be suitable for them. As far as supplements are concerned, the most important thing is to deworm them and maintain a healthy gut-special probiotic supplements are available for this purpose.
