Who's been to the Philippines?

I wanna know how others percieve the Philippines!
Do share your experiences in my beloved country. I know that this country is a far-cry from the US. but still, my country has it's own treasures!
Positive or negative, i'd love to hear about your comments and how your trip went here. :)

I've been to the Philippines twice. I like the old historical buildings especially the churches. I've been to the biggest mall in Asia, Divasoria and many more shopping malls. You have a beautiful country and wish to come back in the near future. The only negative thing I noticed is that the beggars are found in every nooks and corners of the streets.

Wow, that's a nice thing to say about the Philippines! :) I am a Filipina and I love my country! I love how cheap it is here compared to prices from where you are from. And it's cool that you've been to divisoria! It's crazy there right? The prices and haggling and the crowd!!

that's ironic! seems like you bought a lot! why don't you try the door-to-door service? I think that's cheaper than paying for overweight:P

My husband and I have been to the Philippines twice, once with our kids, once before we had kids. My husband has family living there, so we stayed with them instead of at a hotel, which probably made our experience a bit easier. But we LOVED being there both times. The people are friendly and courteous, the food is delicious, and there is so much to do! We especially liked visiting the mountains and some of the beaches. On our first trip, the traffic was pretty bad, but that seems to have gotten better now that more highways and such have been built in and around Manila. The heat took some time to get used to, of course--and we were there in "winter" both times! But the Philippines is a beautiful country, and we are looking forward to another visit in a few years.

Hello. Yes, I have been to the Philippines, on a business trip. Stayed at a hotel on the downtown business core of Metro Manila. Certainly was very impressed with the city, beautiful buildings, and the people are so friendly and courteous, always ready to give the help needed. That I noted right from the moment when I arrived at the airport. I know there are many places of interest for visitors and tourist all over the islands. I look forward to visiting again in the near future.

it is my country and here is where i born, we got a lot of treasures here, all the Filipinos should do is to keep this treasure alive because the government are trying to get them away and they are destroying some of our resources, same with the people who are uneducated. But all i can say is, our country Philippines is one of my treasure in life.
