Spinach

I did buy some cans of Spinach on my shopping trip when the cans were on sell, they were included, so I figured I have not had Spinach in over 3 years and it is a change from, corn, peas, green beans, and other veggies, so I warmed some up last night along with the dinner we had and I have to say it was pretty good with salt and pepper!! I was just wondering does anyone know what kind of vitamins are in it? Is it really good for us? I would look on the can but the cans are already in the recycle bin.

Check ona search engine, ja. Better if you start checking at mylot´s seach bar. You might have a few extra cents. I love spinach and make them with cream, salt, pepper and grated cheese. That, with potatoes, rice or even alone, is delicious! All veggies are good for health and they are best if you eat different veggies in the same meal.

Spinach is a good source of iron, as well as niacin, zinc and vitamins A, K and E, I believe. It really is good for us, as most leafy, green vegetables are. It's also very low in calories. There used to be a cartoon called "Popeye" that was about a sailor, who, when he needed to catch the bad guys or do some other physical feat, ate a can of spinach and his muscles popped out so he could go to work. Spinach may not be that healthy, but there is some truth in the idea.

Spinach is loaded with vitamins. I know it has more iron than most but the dark green color lets you know that there are all sorts of antioxidants and nutrients in it as well!

I think they pretty much answered your question about the vitamins, but yeah, spinach is definitely one of the healthiest vegetables. That pretty much goes for any brightly colored vegetable, especially if they're fresh, though. Sure, canned ones still have some kind of health value, but fresh have so much more- even if you heat some out of a bag with salt and pepper.
