I don't normally listen to country music but there are some songs that captures my attention like this one by Kenny Chesney "Round and Round " ( look it up on youtube ) He ask the famous "life" question...
Why we can't be satisfied, and why we always wantin' something we ain't got ?
It's a question I have never been able to answer, can you ?

Well, Kenny got his own island and plenty of money and anything he ever wanted so I can see how he can ask that of others. Sorry, this kind of thing gets me annoyed.
I think it depends on what it is we want. I want my own home...I'm sick of apartments. What's so wrong with wanting that? However, as in Kenny's situation...they have so much, it is kind of "how dare you want more!" muchless sing about it and make us all feel bad for wanting things. He's got everything he wants. But does he stop singing and just live with what he has? No, he continues and the bucks roll in. Why ain't he satisfied with what he has, why is he wanting what he ain't got? I love country music, but todays country is disgusting. ANd the singers are disgraceful to the industry.

First of all, love your name "coffeebreak" , that just sorta says it all !
I feel your anger towards the question I asked, but for good reason. You are absolutely right. How could they have the nerve to sing about it when they have everything they possibly could want AND what we want too lol. But, I do figure at some point in their life before they became well known, they too wanted for things they didn't ever think they would have. It's just that god gave some people a extraordinary gift/talented that allowed them to use it to make money, so they can obtain the things in life that they wanted. I just wish I was one of those lucky ones !
I am with you on the country today, there might be a few that catches my attention but for the most part, it is all garbage, and far from being what country music should be. I love the older country music !

I don't really know. Once we have something I guess it's just in our nature to continue to want things. I mean, we get bored with what we have, and working towards new things gives us things to work towards and look forward to. So, I guess in a way it's just what keeps us moving. If we're completely satisfied, then we settle down and life gets boring quickly.

Thats what I find myself doing; I want something really bad, then once I have it, I am like okay..I really did not need this. Then the process starts over again. You might be onto something with working towards new things, it does keep us moving in life, but I think sometimes...does it ever just stop ?
ps. I do get bored very easy with things I do in life !
