Have You Ever Seen the Movie The Bad Seed?

I just watched a movie called "The Bad Seed" starring Patty McCormack. The movie is a 1950s black and white movie about a ten year old girl who is a sociopath serial killer. The movie unfolds that her mother finds out she was adopted and her real mother was a serial killer as well. Of course she doesn't tell anyone and ends up trying to kill herself and her daughter in the end. Why do you think she did that? Did she do it to save her husband and family from shame? Did she do it to stop the chain? Did she do it out of guilt?
Also, have you seen it? What did you think about it? I thought it was a pretty good movie and I loved the very end. LOL That was great.

I haven't seen it either but it sounds like something I would enjoy. I really like stories where the serial killer is female because they make up such a small percentage but are usually more diabolical. And the idea of a female child! That's even more intriguing. In fact, I've been toying with the idea of writing that very story - the one of a female child serial killer - for a long time.

I think I have seen this movie, but I can't remember the story or the actors and actresses very well. That was very long time ago, as you said of the 50's. Would be nice to watch it again. Thank you.

Oh yes I have seen The Bad Seed several times one of the better black and white thrillers that little was a devil child
The mother was just to weak to deal with the child and the father was never home he didn't come back until the end of the movie after the lightning struck the child (I must say I didn't shed one tear when that happend) She killed the janitor Leroy,she killed the little boy at her school because she wanted his pendant he won at school,, and every body believed her lies except Leroy and she killed him I liked the very end of the movie when the film credits rolled and they showed her geting a spanking from the mother as the introduced the actors I thought that was kind of neat
Also did you know that the father was played by the guy who played Paul Drake in the Perry Mason series? I don't know his real name only the name of the character he played in Perry Mason
