It's been two days since I had my first ever post-mortem care and I've been managing pretty well. But still, I can't sleep with the lights off and I've started to sleep with my dog. I pray all the time for my patient. I know it's all in the mind but I know I will get by soon.
How about you guys, share how you managed after your first post mortem care.
Oh, and I know my patient is in heaven already. She was wearing her scapular when she passed away. May she rest in peace. :)

I was 15 when I took care of my first resident who had passed away in the facility I worked in . It was pretty hard on me for awhile I saw her face in my mind for awhile, I knew she was no longer in any pain and had moved beyond it all , that is what helped me . Time will help, keep praying!

I know how hard it is..especially if it's the first time. And boy, you were so young then. I'm 20 already and that's where I had my first. I will keep that in mind-knowing she's at peace already. :) I will surely keep on praying for her :)
